2 questions:

Are you positive its not a mini game and its the actual game?

and

Are you positive this is Fable 4 and not a side game like Final Fantasy Dirge of Cerberus (there was still normal FF aside from that)?

I said RIP when Fable 3 came out lol. I mean I would have during Fable 2, but I was willing to stick with it on the promise of a better sequel and well...

For the first question: Yes. They showed extensive demo of the game at E3. It is a rail "shooter". Actually it's more of a rail "gesture-er". A rail "gesture-er" with significant delay and a strange targeting system.

Second Question: It's call something like Fable: The Journey. Not exactly confirmation of Fable 4.

Looks like my collection of Fable games will never be complete now. Dammit. I have every Fable game to date on all systems they came out on (the limited collector editions too) because I love the games so much, but I will NEVER buy a Kinect only game. EVER!

EDIT - Nothing against Kinect itself, I just don't like to use it. I also hate rail shooters.

What?! Do you have any links for this, because I want to laugh more.

Talk about going down hill... and then falling off a cliff :D
Then falling down a well.
and the well has bears.

A rail shooter seriously? Well that was unexpected. Strangest move in the history of franchises me thinks.

RIP Fable. If only they hadn't made Fable II.
No offense, but what made Fable such a great game that Fable 2 didn't have?

If you wanted to break down Fable and it's successors I would say that Fable was the most overhyped POS RPG to come out in the last decade.

"You can DO ANYTHING" they said.

But despite such 'freedoms', the games all felt very small, forced, LINEAR [did being good or evil really ever actually affect the storyline? only in the absolute most superficial ways] . Maybe they got Fable confused with Morrowind, Idk, but that was a way better game, glitches & all.

Fable 2 was the refining of what was already a second rate RPG.

We can't be sure this is what Peter's pouring all his resources into.

Take Link's crossbow training for example.

Soon after that, they announce Skyward Sword.

Ok, they've really fucked up, now.

Fable Mistakes:

Inability to Die
That... DOG
Messed up the magic system

And, add: "Make it a rail-shooter".

I said "R.I.P" when Fable: II was announced.

Didn't fable die a proud death after the first one? That's the way I like to think of it cause the rest of them are terrible. So so so terrible.

As an unabashed Fable fan boy who is also fond of Kinect...

I am sad. If the whole game is like the demo (first person, on the rails, Kinect-centric) I won't be buying it.

And let us know that we shall allways remember a beloved fanchise now we need to make sure no one gets this because if you look at comments here:
http://lionhead.com/blogs/fable_2_development/archive/2011/06/06/fable-the-journey-announcement.aspx

Its clearly stated that 50% of all the fans on that site have lost their mind.

How would a rail shooter work on Kinect anyway? I mean how the hell would that thing know you fired?

Fable is an enjoyable game, with a lot of humour which continues throughout every game, ive never taken the story that seriously as the game its self doesnt take it too seriously either, ive always liked going through them anyway, Fable 3 got slightly clever with a twist or 2 and gave the character some actual personality other than a mute.

possibly with it being on Kinect in this format will make it more appealing to other people who have been uninterested in the series so far, still it wont be to everyones cup of tea.

I was so excited when the trailer started. I thought they were finally going to kill the oracle so we could have stuff like suspense and plot twists in the story.

Then it turned out to be a rail shooter where you are protecting the oracle by waving your hands like a traffic cop on acid. :(

I'm still astonished people play rail shooters outside arcades.

Speaking of arcades, do those things still exist too?
actually there kinda fun on the wii as a cheap fun time for a few hours maybe a day or 2 but I dont think i would spend any serious time on one or even anything over 10$

To me (ignoring the kinect hate) it looks very fun and good quality, seems a little unlikely at difficulty for the spell casting.
I must agree. The on-rails aspect bothers me (I've never liked on-rails), but it looked surprisingly good. Plus, how can you not love those hobbes? They had more personality than the Fable III hobbes, and those suckers could be down right adorable.

To be honest, I think Journey is meant to fill the space in between Fable and Fable II.
Theresa is quite young in it. There are no heroes. That seems to fit that time.
Although the darkness is in there, but that could have easily been there during the 500 years we skipped from Fable to Fable II.
I doubt this is meant to be an honest sequel, in any case.

Completely off topic: But I still want Milo and Kate, though. That better turn into a real game at some point. D;

EDIT: Peter just talked some more on Spike and it looked like it will be a full game (at least he kept talking about it like it'd be bigger). I thought it would be an Arcade game kind of thing. But apparently it's got a real story and whatnot. Not sure if that makes me more or less excited. >>

That sounds like a darn exciting game...........not
Yeah, there's a reason they're mostly in arcades :p

I've heard House of the Dead: Overkill and Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicales were good, though. But I would imagine they're exceptions.

I saw the coverage for this...I couldn't believe it. I liked Fable II (more or less) and Fable III was eh, but this. This is just...what is it? I don't even...
