Check out the UU tier. Venasaur is a beast among its bretheren. Swords Dance + Power Whip = Murderous bastard. Add in Sleep Powder and you're more or less garunteed the power to set up and sweep.Defense said:I always had a soft spot for Venusaur, if only for nostalgia. It's not Meganium bad, but it's pretty bottom-tier in the metagame, and the grass/poison typing almost guarantees it from the get-go.
And they don't. I meant a kid could pick it up and beat it with basic knowledge of "Water beats fire."spectrenihlus said:Kids should not bother entering real life tournaments.dancinginfernal said:It's easy for kids to learn, and complicated enough to keep grown men interested.spectrenihlus said:Is it just me or does anyone else think that there is waaaaaay too much math in a game supposedly made for children.
What does that say about it?
To be honest, from what I've read and seen, the Eeveeloutions seem rather underpowered. I'm not saying they suck. They all are pretty good and, if trained right, could make an exceptional team. But they really aren't all that great in the grand scheme of the Competitive-Pokeworld (of which I've only dabbled in and never actually played competitively).Onyx Oblivion said:snip
Actually, Gen 5 is adding a shit-ton of dragon-types. Check out the list on Bulbapedia. And a lot of them are Pure-Dragon. There is a Dragon-Ice, Dragon-Electric, Dragon-Fire, Dragon-Dark... It's pretty crazy. Last Gen was the highest number of legendaries. Now we get dragons. It's insane.Amyler said:Check out the UU tier. Venasaur is a beast among its bretheren. Myself, I love Flygon. It's not that he's bad ... but really guys? Another Ground/Dragon in the next generation with higher base stats in Everything and a better movepool? Bah.
actually dream world ditto is being listed as one of the top teirs in 5th gen.Arnoxthe1 said:BTW, fav pokemon who sucks? Ditto.
I've been following it closely, and I'm trepadatious but excited all the same. Not just dragons, either; have you seen how many freaking fightings we're getting? Plus, revamps of old mon's much? Blaziken. Speed Boost. Goodbye Infernape, goodbye Pokabu! You were never as cool as the kickboxing chicken! >=DSilverUchiha said:Actually, Gen 5 is adding a shit-ton of dragon-types. Actually, gen 5 Ditto is pretty awesome. Its ability automatically copies stats/moves so you can take out your opponent's strongest pokemon.Arnoxthe1 said:Who uses flareon anyway?

I didn't mean in UU, I meant in general. Yeah, it may be viable in UU, but no one in their right mind will use Venusaur in OU. It's outclassed by other pokemon.Amyler said:Check out the UU tier. Onyx...You know my PBR teams I've made. You know who I use and what tier they fall in.Onyx Oblivion said:Dear Game Freak,
Can you stop making Flareon suck? Can you at least give it Earthquake or Flare Blitz? Or some kinda decent physical attack moves? Flareon has a massive attack stat, and absolute nothing to do with it. Flareon is actually better off using a special attack based moveset, and that's a damn shame. Super Power ain't enough. No STAB. Stat drop after use, and poor type coverage.
All the other Eeveelutions are totally viable in one way or another.
Espeon is Psychic death. Umbreon can tank and stall. Vaporeon can tank, sweep, stall, heal, and do it all. Jolteon is fast as fuck, and an exceptional Baton Passer. Leafeon has a great attack and defense stats, and a varied movepool to go with it. Glaceon is a pretty damn good Ice type, with good special attack.
It's Generation 5.
You have actually had 6 chances to fix Flareon merely by adding a few moves...Gen 2. Gen 3. Fire Red/Leaf Green. Gen 4. Heart Gold/Soul Silver. And now...Gen 5. And you still make Flareon suck.
R.I.P. Flareon
And F.U. Game Freak.
Worst Wishes,
Onyx
____________
STAB = Same Type Attack Bonus, meaning that if a pokemon is the same type as the move it used, it does 1.5x damage. 1.25x for dual type pokemon.

What's your favorite pokemon to use that actually sucks?
