Lolspoilersmuch.

Anyway, he's Richard. Undead. Look at what's happened to him before, he'll be fine.

Richard is their most beloved character. Without him, their comics become less popular, therefore they won't let him die permanently.

He brought Cale back to life from a pair of eyeballs sitting on a pile of elfish dust. On another occasion, he lost a hand and chose to replace it with a fork instead of his regular appendage (The Handfork of Truth, in some circles). You think he can't handle something as simple as reattaching his own head?

He's had an axe through the skull, but he's never been decapitated.

Decapitation seems to be the kicker for most of the regenerator types. It's the real test to see if they are truly indestructable.

That said, it's Fuckin Richard. Chief Warlock of the Brothers of Darkness, Lord of the Thirteen Hells, Master of the Bones, Emperor of the Black, Lord of the Undead and the Mayor of a little village up the coast.

Oooh, and the Mistress of Magma.

Really? A moment of silence for Richard? You realize that in that moment of silence he'll be calling to his body to pick his head up, right? Because Richard's been stabbed, arrowed, pounded, slammed, burnt, acid'd, blasted, shrunk to kiddie-size, banished, overloaded, probably a number of things I've forgotten. With respect, his unearthly necromancer soul doesn't appear to be bound to his head, so he's fine.
