What? Really?acosn said:They don't fix their problem hardware, they charge you for services that are free on every other platform, and they nickle and dime you every chance they get.
And why couldn't you fix your Xbox 360 like that?EGtodd09 said:Yeah sure, if you don't know anyone else in the world with a computer, or you don't have a second computer at your house, or you don't have a smart phone, or you don't have a cell phone at all, then you're going to have to google it on your broken PC because you've got "Safe mode with networking" as an option. If you're going to try and invalidate my point, don't be stupid about it.Vibhor said:LolEGtodd09 said:The great thing about PC is that when they break, you can just google the fix, which always work. Just stay off the dodgy website and it won't break at all. and dude, it's just a xbox, your life isn't fucked.
Google from a broken PC.
Set for how long...three weeks to 6 months when everything in the computer becomes as good as having an amiga taped to the desk?Jarl said:Or you could buy a gaming PC and be set for life.I jest, I jest. Keep your pants on.
Sorry to hear about that shit, man. I've found that, when talking to representatives like that, always get their name and attempt to get a clear, solid confirmation that what you're being promised is going to happen. I had similar problems when trying to get a guy out to fix my internet, they apparently "forgot" to note down that I wanted him to stop by. By then a week had passed.
Sadly I doubt there's much you can do. No wonder you're steamed, though. I think anyone would be. Getting shafted ain't fun.
Except that most of my Nintendo products got put through a fairly punishing tour of service.Rancid0ffspring said:What? Really?
I'm quite sure that EVERY other product in existence has a set term warranty. If it fails outside of that time period you would be expected to pay for any repair service. PS3 certainly does 134 quid last time I checked.
Do you think nintendo wouldn't charge for a replacement if your N64 packed in? There's no way inhell that it is still in warranty.
I know the logical and most likely cheaper step would be to buy another one but seriously dude. Out of warranty products that fail will always have a fee to repair them! It's he way this shizzle works
My old computer had a damaged motherboard, most likely due to a failure during manufacturing. I think that's what caused it.EGtodd09 said:Wow, you must not take very good care of your property. Or it was just shit, either one really, or maybe both.Moonpooman said:On my old computer, the harddisk melted. I'm pretty sure that wasn't due to a virus or something similar.EGtodd09 said:The great thing about PC is that when they break, you can just google the fix, which always work. i'm sorry for your loss, but the quote pretty much says it here. without it in writing, looks like you don't have a leg to stand on. personally i'd see if i could get it repaired by somebody outside of microsoft, failing that get an older console. i don't see the point in 'slim' versions of consoles, just another way to get money outta you...John Marcone said:That my friend is why you always get everything in writing. If they had of sent you a official email stating that they would extend your warranty then they would be bound by law to follow through.
