So, I just got Dawn of War II on sale on steam. Whoohoo. After patiently wating for 3-4 hours for the game to download, I launch it, ready for action.

Then windows live happens.

Now, after half an hour, 3 different password reset pages and lots of teeth gnashing, I'm reduced to forum raging. I already have a windows live account, but the ingame login wouldn't accept the password. The windows live site is no help, neither is the ingame "forgotten password" link, and from experience I dread having to possibly go to Microsoft customer support, that dreadful heap of bull dung. AARRGH!

For discussion value: What was the last time you raged off the handle over something, and what was it?

It was trying to get damned BF2 multiplayer to work. I don't know what's wrong! I patched it, I looked online, I've done everything! SP works with no problems, but anytime I try to join an online server (even on the Project Reality mod!) I get a stop error (a blue screen flashes quickly followed by my computer crashing). I must have spend 1 or 2 good hours looking for a fix.

:} this is why I only use 1-2 passwords for everything I use for the last 7+ years. So damn annoying entering crap and finding out there's a 1 on the end you forgot about.

It can take a while but try running a check disk. I did that once before and it cleared up some problems with various programs, including some online ones.

Not a great solution, but the problem might simply be that the parts of GFWL on your computer are partially corrupt or something. Especially if you use your computer a lot, add and delete a ton of stuff frequently, and don't manually defrag your system periodically.

The Black Ops Steam forums made me rage like hell. A crapload of people are having severe performance issues with the PC versions, and we're trying to work towards a solution. Treyarch won't patch it decently, so we're stuck trying to think of fixes. And EVERY. SINGLE. DAMN. DAY. some idiot comes running in posting this: 'omg stfu u guys r dum buy a new computer jees don't play it on an 8 year old machine lol'.

While EVERYONE having issues basically owns computers that can blast Crysis on max. Twice. In 3d. RLJKLJKLFJKDKSDFKLSDFkljdswe985ud. That.

For a while it was the existence of Bridalplasty, now it's the fact that someone can try to own the sun, and not have the very idea immediately shot down... or have themselves immediately shot. Not shot down, just shot.

I bought that game, and returned it within a week.
Download.
Account.
Fail.
Patch.
Punkbuster error.
Re-patch.
Join Server.
Punkbuster Kick.
New new patch.
Game crash.
This-time-it'll-work-patch.
No-go.

BF2 was trash, and EA have some of the worst online I have ever experienced...
I would have loved to play BF2142, because the demo was awesome, but because of EA I didn't, plus my friend told me all about the problems with that one...

That's why I stick to consoles, or just play Starcraft. Battle.net is pretty easy to use.

The writers of a TV show I used to love totally phoning it in and turning it to shit. Basically, what they're doing with the franchise makes it seem like they think their fans are idiots and like the creators couldn't care less about actually making a good show that people want to watch. They're going for random stunty shit instead of a basic fucking story, and giving us cardboard cutouts who act like irrational douchebags and undergo no growth at all instead of believable characters.

That was the last thing that made me go into my silent, tranquil fury. Most of my internet commentary on this has been calm and analytical, because I like to be a thoughtful fan, rather than the 'standing on the ledge ready to jump at the slightest thing' kind of fan.

So, for the benefit of those who don't have Windows Live - namely, I use a PS3 - is there a game that causes this much of a problem?

Would that show, by any chance, be Scrubs? Because I raged over the exact same thing.

OT: This is such a tiny thing to rage about, but still. I bought Brothers in Arms 2 on my iPod Touch (2nd gen, 8 gig if it makes a difference) due to it being on sale for a buck and it having pretty good reviews. Before buying, I tried the lite version. Most of the time, it crashed before I could even get to the main menu. Oh well, I thought, there are tons of reviews saying the lite version crashes all the time, but there are no crash reports for the full one!

So I bought the full version. I wait for it to download and install. I boot it up. I click new game. I read the letter thing on the loading screen. I...I'm back at my home screen. I try it again. I think to myself "Maybe it was just a first-time problem, it'll be fine this time." Menu, letter...crash.

Ugh. I hate apps.

I generally rage at my roommate. He's generally doing something to piss me off. Yes I want to know when someone is coming over at midnight, yes I want to know who is sleeping on the couch in the living room with my TV, Xbox and hundreds of dollars worth of games and movies, and no I don't want to drive you around all day.

Games for Windows Live. I bought Age of Empires 3 for 10 cents. A major pain games for Windows live is. A MAJOR pain.
