I do my best not to rage quit games
on the couple of times I have rage quit it was due to dumbass behavor rather than score or anything mostly on tf2 (which is why I stopped playing)

I'm guilty of it on many occasions I'm sure. Though I try my best not too.
The games worst for rage quitting overall that I've experienced? probably the Left For Dead series and Halo 3. Sometimes in Call Of Duty but only if the other time is winning by a ridiculous amount.

personally I dont think one can really ragequit a solo game like skyrim or minecraft
I mean you are quiting out of rage but its diffent becuse you are not annoying others
like how table sugar and powdered sugar are both sugar but you don't put powdered sugar in your drink

I prefer to just silently put the controller down and let the other guy win in the faster paced games. UMVC3 is a good example when some guy just starts a combo in the first 5 seconds and it just. Won't. End.
I still "ragequit" on principle when they go back and pick Wesker when we're on equal footing. Overpowered bastard.
Though it's fun when you get an early Turnabout Mode in and they leave because they know you could end the game whenever you hell you feel like it.
Though i find Starcraft 2 to be a weird one, the games i've watched seem to end when one guy leaves. It's never "victory conditions have been met" it's "fuck this i can't win now gg."
They just deny the simple pleasure of ruining the other guy's base...

If ya can't take a loss, don't play the game. Leastways I try and live by that. I don't do a lot of competitive gaming. Isn't really my thing. Perhaps because I'm just not that great at a lot of the FPS games that seem to dominate the field. Nor do I have a desire to sit there 12 hours a day to get good enough to be so. So I just don't play 'em.
Bring on the co-op and I'm there. If I do happen to drop from a co-op match it is probably because my flaky internet connection fizzled or something akin to that.

I admit to dishonorable tactics in Dark Souls. If I get raided and the invader doesn't come and fight me (i.e. stands by a batch of really strong guys and waits for me), I use the Home button to quit the game. "Why raid me if you aren't going to fight?" I ask, "Annoying little bugger, I bid thee farewell."
Demon's souls, I lost 50,000 souls with my death. I was really pissed and quit the game.
I decided to try to restart and restructure my current build after that, still haven't reached the part that I rage quitted on though, so we'll see how that works out.

I've ragequit several games of MW2 due to douchefags with aimbot hitting me from across the map with noob tubes and danger close, or no scoping me from half the map away, but I haven't ragequit any games of MW3 yet. Been tempted to, but haven't so far.
What makes me ragequit games, is when I am playing with complete fucking retards, against a full team of cheaters. I understand that there is lag in MW3 games, but when I unload a half magazine into someone's head and they casually turn around and shoot me once in the head with a sniper, without even aiming at all, I am not going to play anymore. Or when I go 14 - 0 in a game of search, and some cuntbag that has no idea how to play, shoots me through a wall that I KNOW cannot be shot through, I tend to get a little mad.
I can thankfully say I'm not much of a rage quitter. Don't get me wrong, I quit, just not because of rage (usually.) I tried to get that achievement in Vanquish for beating all the challenges--quit that. Tried to do Path of the Master Ninja on NG2, and quit that within 5 minutes (and 600 deaths.)
I really hate it when I lose because of things that are out of my hands; things that I can't control. Things like lag or poor combat design really grind my gears. I've probably rage quit because of those things a couple times, I just can't think of a specific time.

Can't say I really do that in multiplayer. If I get annoyed, I tend to return the favor.

I've rage quitted in the past, but the majority of times I've done so I was tired enough that my control over my temper is pretty limited.
The last time I rage quitted was in the middle of a TDM game in UT2004. I had a few real life things on my mind, I was tired and I generally wasn't feeling all that good and after getting spawnkilled a few times in quick succession I'd had enough, and started killing myself on purpose. I had no motivation. I realised this, and thought the best way to avoid writing derogatory comments to people in the server was to just leave, so that's what I did.

It's really rather embarrassing, considering I'm a mediocre to decent player. Be it a trouncing with Ghost Rider in UMvC3 or a beatdown with Arakune in BB, I run into ragequitters all the time.
It tends to be shit-talkers on mics or people with impossibly high win streaks.

Points to rank up are based mostly on how many things you kill, so if the other person rage quits, you get the win, but get barely any rank up points.
Apart from that, the only other multiplayer game I noticed it in was Halo 3, but only because no one can fill the slot that someone has left. They fixed that for Reach. (Thank God)

I don't play online much unless it's with friends, so really I've only seen ragequtting in L4D...

I tend to rage quit when things get unbalanced. Like playing Battlefield, and getting spawn raped, I would tend to rage quit then. Proper rage quitting, like Alt+F4, or pressing the power button on my 360 with my big toe... well I try to justify it, I think the game I've rage quitted on the most is Trackmania Nations, that game always seems like a good idea at the time, then I realize how much I suck at it!
I never actually ragequitted or /qq'd if anyone even remembers what it stands for, damn youngun's. I think the only reason i'd have to actually leave a game is because someone on the opposing team is hacking, and i dont mean "they play so good they must be hacking", i mean literally speedhacking, aimbotting, whatever you can think of for any kind of game out there.
Though i have left and rejoined games when teambalance was truly off, i.e. the team i was in was basicly roflstomping the opposition, so i'd just switch over, even it out a little, besides, a challenge is nice.
