So I got Siege the other day and I'm having some fun with it, but I'm curious to what people think of the various Specialists in game. I started off with Sledge and Pulse and have liked them both, but I see a lot of Fuze and Castle around.

Fuze is solid, high armor and good weapon selection, but in the hands of an unexperienced player, he's a liability on hostage rescue. As it turns out, those cluster charges can kill the hostage and instafail the mission. Castle is medium utility, those enhanced barricades don't mean much when there are so many breach routes into any room. Sledge is okay for quiet breaching, but since every attacker can take breaching charges, his utility is limited (especially since he has to be in front of whatever he's breaking).

Honestly, a lot of attackers and defenders are at best of "meh" usability. IQ, for example, can spot enemy electronics (jammers, those grenade things Blitz puts up, door traps, etc), but she's got no way to mark them for other players, or destroy them without shooting. On the flip side of that, Thatcher can destroy electronics with EMP grenades, but has no way to spot them other than visually, so most of the time he's throwing blindly. And don't even get me started on how useless Twitch's shock drone is.

Side note: FFS, give us a way to restore health. Resupplying doesn't, the medic's stim darts don't, currently the only way to heal is to get downed (which is unpredictable, as often as not you'll just die) and get someone to revive you. Wouldn't even be so bad, but when you're low on health, that ugly greyish filter games do is permanently active until you die or heal.

Oh, I'm perfectly capable of mistakenly dropping the hostage as Sledge. My teammates got to watch a brilliant end of round killcame of me dropping through a ceiling, aiming and capping the hostage right in the chest because I mistook him for a Defender.

'twas bad.
