Rainbows, Unicorns, and Charming Princes

Title is just to draw attention, ignore it.

Well it kinda has to do with what I want to ask. I just finished reading the Hunger Games (loved Rue and Prim....no spoilers) trilogy at the request of my cousin, and I liked the story. I especially liked the main character Katniss Everdeen. Finally, a strong female personality that people should want to be like (screw you Bella and your damn....oh shiny vampire chick.....anyways). It is a popular series, and people do praise the writing for the main character, and while I've read strong female characters before (Tali, Sarah Walker, Liz from Dragon Tattoo), I've also read really bad ones too(Disney princesses, again Sarah Walker, Kelly from the Office).

So, list some of your favourite female characters from...anything really.

Eh, there is Hester Shaw from the Mortal Engines series. She may not be the main character, but she is there for the whole thing. She becomes a main character.
Anyway, she was a good character, from a good series (Mortal Engines is being made into a film by Peter Jackson, I had a fangirl moment when I found out >.>)
Also, Rena Ryuuguu from Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, just because you said favourites. And she is my favourite.
