After having rediscovered Rainymood while reading a youtube comment, I decided to play it in the background while sampling different music.
Suffice it to say, I got to Sons of Skyrim and it was pretty good.

This [http://www.rainymood.com/] is Rainymood.

So Escapist, what do you like/think is good with Rainymood? What does rain make better?

Also, inb4 that one song from Cowboy Bebop [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXObl6YocFI].

I've actually went on there several times, usually when I was just in a sober mood or I thought a good, instrumental song would indeed go well with it. I guess the way we associate a, sort of, mystical gloom around the idea of rain just really dramatizes the atmosphere, lol.

Other than that, though, I don't go on there that much.

I've known about Rainymood for a while now, I find this works well mixed with it. It feels like jazz music from a cafe in New York in 50's and it is soothing at times.

Also, if no one knows. Typing repeat after Youtube in the URL of a video will take you to a website that puts the video on a loop.

To be honest, I've never heard of Rainymood (or Cowboy Bebop for that matter).

However, I will post some songs about rain . . .

.

This one uses the word "rain" a lot, though I don't think it's actually about rain.

On topic:

Chell in the Rain
Works pretty well

Bloody good sci-fi show Cowboy Bebop is. And not just a fantastic anime, but a fantastic series in general.

As for what Rainymood makes better, well anything that's calming really, especially smooth jazz. Certain kinds of folk music as well, like this:

I've yet to find a song that fits. Having said that, I've only tried two. Thank you OP for the link, I'm sure it'll be handy.

Only song I know of that mixes this in is one by Evanescence.

And I love the sound of rain. Nothing better than cuddling into a nice warm bed with a girl on a freezing cold night with the rain howling outside.

Edit: Sonofabitch. That rain site is making me sleepy. xD

Love Rainymood!!!! I've tried it out with lots of songs as well. I quite like it with various Silent Hill songs. Like Promise (Reprise)

That song is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

OT - I love Rainymood. I often have it on when I'm working on maps for a role play website.
It's rather short but it goes well and is a lovely piece of music anyway.

Very nice site. Works best for me with folk/acoustic music. Been playing some Fleet Foxes, Nick Drake and Beirut over it and its amazing. Radiohead's Gagging Order works wonderfully as well

The only music I like to listen to with Rainymood on is piano. Glorious.

Rainymood with The Who is just true bliss. Listening to the entireity of Quadrophenia with Rainymood on is one of the best musical experiences one can imagine.

The media player I use, Clementine [http://www.clementine-player.org/], has a rain loop as a built in background stream (you can turn it off or on). It's a pretty good free media player, a fork of Amarok. (It also has a Hypnotoad background stream. But that is less appropriate.)

Liked it with these two songs.
