Did you know that the Velociraptors from Jurassic Park are actually [a href"http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deinonychus"]Deinonychus[/a] (Latin for "terrible claw")?

The real [a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Velociraptor"]velociraptor[/a], while similar in look to the Deinonychus, is only about the size of a turkey, and feathered. It was decided during the movie's production for the the clever lizards to be called raptors because Deinonychus, aside from sounding less dynamic, was harder to spell and pronounce.

Here's a fun one, what colour is the sun? If you said yellow you just failed. Think of what happens to something when it becomes really, really, REALLY hot. It becomes white right? That's where the expression 'white hot' comes from.

Well the sun is so hot it fits that description perfectly, it's actually a giant white ball of flame. We only see it as yellow due to the influence of our atmosphere.
