Random gaming obsessions

Have any of you guys ever just suddenly developed a really big obsession with playing certain games or game series? Like, something reminds you of them and you feel that you just need to play those damn games.

I ask because I've recently (like within the last day or two) developed an odd obsession with Final Fantasy. As in, I want to buy a Playstation 2 just so I can get the Final Fantasy Anthology (which contains Final Fantasy 4 and Final Fantasy 5), Final Fantasy 6, Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy 8, Final Fantasy 9, Final Fantasy 10, Final Fantasy 10-2 and Final Fantasy 12 and just play the shit out of them.

Cause I've played bits of a couple of them (mostly 6 and 8, and I've seen my brother play some of 9 but that was ages ago) but I've never actually finished any of the ones I've played and I really want to. I feel like I'm just missing out on one of those legendary gaming franchises. Final Fantasy is like one of those series where you just need to play it.

I actually did this same thing some time last year when I bought all 3 games in the Prince of Persia Sands of Time trilogy, just because I'd never finished any of them before (for the record, I still haven't finished any of those re-purchased games).

So yeah I feel like an oddly obsessive freak over this and I need to know other people do the same freaky shit as I'm considering doing.

P.S: For anyone weird enough to wonder why they weren't listed, I already own Final Fantasy 1 and 2 on GBA (own Final Fantasy 6 on it too but the thing's broken and keeps fucking up my save files) and I'm even considering buying Final Fantasy 13 (for the third time, I might add because apparently I'm a fucking retard) as well as Final Fantasy 13-2 when it comes out.

Oh, and I want to get the Final Fantasy 3 remake on DS too. Just to round out the collection (except 11 and 14 and really, fuck those games).

Xenosaga episode 3
Suikoden 2 and 5 ( i have tactics)
All of the .hack games
The second arc the lad game
I skipped the atelier iris games because of that 1 on the ps3
The second persona ( i really need to pick that up)
And siren 2

I'm completely obsessed with Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, i got it as a cheap little time killer where you can play as Phoenix Wright and own Dr Doom with legal procedures and it's taken more of my time than Skyrim and Saints Row 3 combined...

It's all about watching yourself progress. How I managed to play a decent X-23 without knowing about her invincible Hyper and projectile dodge moves i'll never know. And watching an obvious noob ragequit after one Aerial Team Combo was pure nostalgia. That was me a month ago.

Still need to use Phoenix Wright's Hypers more, work X-23's cross ups into my regular gameplay and be able to pull off Amaterasu's counter moves when i need them (not just as a showy "hey look what i can do!" move) I swear most people don't know what they are so they just punch them out of sheer curiosity.

As i said, progression.
