Search bar approved... I'm distinguishing message tones from ringtones.

Basically I'm looking for a new message tone for my phone. It would have to be 12 seconds or less in length, and right now I'm open to suggestions.

For the past year or so, I had a Geiger counter noise, but now I'm interested in changing it (I don't change it very often). I was thinking something like electric shock sound effect actually.

I'm a fairly random sort of person, so I those sort of noises are perfect for my phone.

Does anyone have any good suggestions for a new message tone? Obviously with my phone's limitations it can't be very much of a song, but I'll accept specific song parts if people can come up with ones under 20 seconds.

So I'm just after some advice here; what should I pick, where should I look, and what are you using as your message tone?

If you want more discussion value: How often do you change your message tone, and do you feel that how often you change your tone reflects on how often you as a person change your mind?

For your message tone, try the first 11 seconds of Cross My Heart by Marianas Trench.

I quite like it myself.

And my message tone is Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Weird seeing as I am British and not in Alabama.
Actually, try the first 12 seconds of Sweet Home Alabama to.

Sweet Home Alabama is... Not really my taste, and would be kind of out of place in Australia... Although possibly not more than it would be in Britain :).

Cross My Heart sounds generic but okay.

Legend of Zelda is good... But perhaps there are some more subtle tones from the game than the 'item received' noise, which I could pick from. That "codec call" sounds really annoying though, so ah, it's a no for that one.

Thanks for your suggestions. I might just play Majora's Mask on a tone hunt and see if I find anything.

Actually, I was raiding the BSA sound files of Oblivion and finding some interesting stuff so... Maybe Fallout 3 next...

I used to have Stewie from Family Guy on my mobile phone saying "Why you sick, sick little moo cow" when I would receive a message.

This is the message tone I'm currently using:
This is the song I am currently using as my ringtone when someone calls:
I did have the Codec call as my ringtone for a while, and whenever someone would ring while I was at school, I would answer it and swivel to the ground and say in a gravelly voice, "This is Snake, do you read me Colonel?" Fun stuff.
