Well, are there any clichés you noticed?

It don't need to be "real" clichés just something you noticed, because you watched some movies in special order or you saw something that got you thinking.

I for myself noticed, that a lot "sea monster" are defeated with fire... while in water....

What do you got?

Every vehicle is capable of a screeching tire burnout (even on gravel and dirt) as long as the driver is mad enough.

Henchmen just can't aim. Ever. And if they do hit someone the wound is either incredibly tiny or ridiculously severe.

My friends dissed me as if it was my imagination, but after TF2, they pretty much changed tune.

You can always hack the computer mainframe, guys. And it takes about thirty seconds. Don't sweat it.

In every action/explotation film based in vietnam, there's always a bamboo tower that bursts into flames before falling down.

On a similar note, one I've seen a few times that bugs me... "Humans have the technology to hack ALIEN computers..."

or how about "all nerds portrayed in movies (gamers, book-lovers, etc...) have to be the point-dexter type"?

Well, that didn't take long. I do not get why people like this site.

Anyway, how bout the fact that Russian villains always have strange hair-related traits, such as massive beards, or baldness.

Yeah though in independance day (one of the bigger examples of this cliche) they actually explain this but it gets overlooked and cut out at parts. In their universe all human computer developement stemed from the roswall crashes (which were the same aliens) and that they'd been researching them since the fifties. That's why their virus worked on their mothership. But scenes explaining this were cut out.

1. When the movie is placed in either the present or the past, Russians are always bad. ALWAYS.
2. Characters who at first come across as stupid remain so for the entire film, or until they get killed.
3. The lesser members of a team or task force will always either be killed, captured, or martyred.
4. The woman will always do something stupid like gallivant off and get into trouble at least once. The cause of the gallivanting is always sexual tension with the gritty male figure who she can't admit she isn't too good for.

And that's all I've got so far.

In every comedy movie with a duo, they will get mad at each other 75% of the way through the film, hooking up again in the climax. ALWAYS!
