The thing is, that I suck with computers. I don't know Jack *poop* about computers. Now through a "CAN YOU RUN IT?" site, I checked how my computer can battle the feared Battlefield 3. I speeded through the minimum settings, but for the recommended settings, it was complaining about my video card.

Recommended: DirectX 11 compatible with 1024 MB RAM (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 or ATI Radeon HD 6950)
You Have: AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series

Now, having no idea about any of these things, I turn to you, dear escapees. How bad is my video card in actuality? When should I be getting a new one? And most importantly, how should I play BF3 on my computer?

Thank you in advance, I know I can always trust you guys!

AMD and ATI are (basically) the same company.
In general, the higher the number the better, so your 6800 card will slightly underperform compared to the recommended 6950 card. HOWEVER, it doesnt mean you cant okay BF3, not at all! You may have to turn some of the settings down from "high" to "medium", but your card and the recommended card are fairly close in terms of performance, (relatively) so you should find minimal problems when playing it.

As for getting a new card, how many pci-e slots does your motherboard have? taken a look? It might be cheaper (if you want to upgrade) to get another 6800 card and run them with a crossfire cable... but then again, thats still a fairly decent card you have there.
