Pretty simple topic really. Do you have any random shit lying around in your place that you've either neglected to throw out or don't quite have a reason for owning? Do you use these objects in weird ways?

For some reason I have had this pair of 3D glasses sitting on my bathroom sink for over a year now. Because its one of the most even surfaced objects in my bathroom I use it to ensure my sideburns are symmetrical (lengthwise) since ears are nothing to go by.

Do lockpicks count? I bought a set, and also a lock (two of them, to be precise) to practice on...but I've been busy with other stuff. Still, the lockpicks make for pretty good scratchers. And the lock is heavy enough to hold down paper like a pro.

I also have one of those plastic things that looks like a CD and come with CD spindles. I use it to put my cup of coffee/hot drink on it.

I have some deer skulls in the corner of my apartment cause I think they look cool. Reminds me of the days I went hunting with my dad but I live in the city now and don't have any time to hunt anymore. Anyways, i'll be hanging them up some day.

I've got a nearly empty bottle of flat Dr. Pepper on the floor next to my computer/writing desk and an extra memory foam mattress leaning up against my bedroom wall (mom no longer needs it now that she has a sleep number mattress).

To be honest I think everyone has an empty CD case-thing lying around somewhere in there home. I know I have more than one.

I prefer to think I use my one responsibly! I don't just let it sit around being useless like everybody else does.

Any package I find cool looking I keep they tend to hold change or stuff that is to easily lost or become bookends. I also have many empty "Mann potion" bottles filed with booze and food coloring in my freezer that I take to work when I know my shit boss is in as opposed to my cool boss that let us play music and video games.

I must say I do enjoy picking locks, if you ever catch insomnia it is a good cure. You have to focus and it keep you from thinking of pointless shit and soon you can get in to half the locks you will find which makes a fun if not disturbing party trick.

I know it's offtopic, but any good practice locks you can suggest? I currently have a normal lock (two of them - but they are exactly the same) and no means to dismantle it to have a good peek at how it operates. So I'm stuck blindly feeling my way through a six-pin lock which makes it kind of hard to know exactly how I'm doing. Or should I keep going until I get the hang of it.

Sadly no, I never even knew they existed until about a year after i started doing it, from that time i have only picked typical locks, i have simply never has a shortage with my jobs at an apartment complex where i just use my picks in place of my keyring and my uncles pawn shop the get countless locks from crap people find and can not open.

I have an old typewritter that the last tenant left at my house . It was the first time i have even seen one of those contraptions. Funny thing is , it was in my home a whole year before i decised to open it .( because it was in a wooden case) . It's heavy as hell , i can't believe people used to carry that arround.

A rock with my name on it. It's from back when I was seven and it was on my school desk. Now it sits comfortably next to my games/albums.

I have a globe of the Earth as of 1987. Sometimes I spin it and see which of the closest countries don't exist anymore. There's also an old Cornish scrumpy jug that I'm using as a bookend.

Uh, an egg timer, a crutch, a phillip's head screwdriver, an elastic hair tie, and that's just within reaching distance...

Hmmm...used to have a car jack...don't know what happened to it...never owned a car though...

Had a candlepin bowling ball, but that was "misplaced" by the moving company. Pfft, about as "misplaced" as my PS2 and my Gamecube were.

Nothing really interesting. If I cleaned out my room, I'd probably find something of interest.

It must be haunted, shit's going to get creepy if you use it.

OT: There is a preserved deer leg in a cupboard somewhere. It could be used as a butt scratcher but that would be weird....having a preserved deer leg isn't weird at all.
