So, I was replaying Mass Effect 1 and I decided to look up Nihilus' profile on the Mass Effect wiki. I thought that Nihilus' name, along with Kasumi's last name Goto, were both references to characters in the Obsidian game Kotor 2 (which was the sequel to a Bioware game).

There was no mention in the trivia section for either character, but one thing I found interesting was the Nihilus' voice actor was called Alastair Duncun.

Coincidence that two close characters in DA:O had these names, I think not.

I'm not sure if any of these were really references, but I've noticed this in games before where I see what may be a reference but is never confirmed or addressed. Has that happened to any of you?

Its pretty difficult for anyone to put a reference into a game without it being pounced upon by several people. Not to mention that if you're putting a reference into anything you don't want it too be really obscure otherwise noone will notice it.

I've noticed references in games but nothing as slight as what you've described. It's usually more like the devs are going "LOL YOU SEE WHAT WE DID THERE?! WE MADE A HARUHI REFERENCE!"

[small] Not that i've seen any Haruhi references lately, where did they all go? What noone likes Haruhi anymore? Goddammit[/small]

Maybe everyone stopped caring after 8 weeks of the same thing.

OT: Well, references are always made in games, intentional or unintentional. It's always fun to point them out.
