Only games that have made me Rage Quit this gen are Dead or Alive 4 thanks to the stupid final boss and Street Fighter 4 thanks to the stupid final boss one is a stupid silver nude woman and the other is a stupid silver nude dude (also VF 4 and 5s boss is a silver nude woman) yeah anyway I hated everything about these bastards they looked stupid they were annoying as hell did ridiculous damage and basically trolled the fuck out of you.

I could beat them with my mains without much problem but anyone else oh man you are in for a world of pain. I am so glad DOA5 got rid of a final boss in arcade and Time attack mode that alone makes the game more enjoyable (and they addressed the counters which was my other huge problem with 4).

I am not sure its a proper rage quit though its just this gen I promised if a game started to really piss me off I would turn it off for a while and take a break whereas before I would usually keep going and even if I did win I would get no satisfaction I would just think thank fuck thats over only trouble is with last bosses in fighters you are only a few matches away from fighting the (usually) cheap annoying bastards all over again.

Last gen I rage quit Burnout 3 as in totally just quit the game and never touched it again after the most blatant cheating I have ever seen by a computer in a racing game (or any game come to think of it), words cannot describe how pissed off I was well actually I was sorta in shock at first I sat there thinking ARE you shitting me? that was total bullshit.

Lastly I raged at Hack Slash&Loot. Because fuck random chances and fuck a potion stripping my hero right to the starting stats just before the final boss.

The Rebel Flagship's final form in FTL. No matter how hard I try, that bastard always gets me with his super-weapon. It doesn't help that the boarding drones in the second form always kill off most of my crew and fill my ship with holes before I can shut it down.

There's also all the optional bosses in Final Fantasy IV's final dungeon. They may be optional, but avoiding them means you miss out on the best gear in the game.

Please stop. It's hyperbole. It's a thing. It's aways been a thing, along with metaphors, personification, exaggeration, figures of speech, and any other of the countless ways you can use language in a figurative fashion. Get used to it.

While I agree that we should accept it as a metaphor rather than an actual question I am sick of seeing it used about situations where you are clearly NEVER the only one. Am I the only one who thinks getting kicked in the nuts hurts? No, that's fairly obvious. Am I the only one who doesn't like ? The answer is still obviously no, but at least in this case it might feel like you're the only one because pretty much everyone is giving it praise.

OT: Monster Hunter 3 on some many occasions. Especially fighting Zinogre... He hits me and I am almost dead and I will get ready to run away so I can heal, but what's that? I'm stunned you say? I can't move you say? He hits me just as I recover? Well fuck this!

There's also those times you simply run out of time. That's quite devastating since you need to balance your pace in a way so you won't run out of healing items.

Recently on the Ratchet and Clank trilogy, many a times during the first game because you couldn't fucking strafe.

You can kinda circumvents this once you get Clank's jetpack upgrade. This gives you the option to go into hover mode, which allows you to strafe... somewhat.

Eh...Complaining about the misuse of a figure of speech would obviously be reasonable, but I would argue that the OP was in the right. With all the praise that the game gets, he/she/it can't really be blamed for being a bit thrown off by this pretty glaring problem with the game. (One I happen to sympathize with, but that's beside the point) They're in a situation where they hold an opinion that they haven't really seen or heard many other people hold. That's pretty much the perfect context for that figure of speech.

Oh and also....I don't know, the controls for Assassins' Creed were pretty frustrating before I got a handle on them. And I kinda hate any game that maps something to the pressing the analog sticks. It just guarantees that I'm going to accidentally use it at some really intense, inopportune time, i.e., when I'm moving the analog sticks really quickly because something intense is happening.

If you ever find yourself with some time to kill and want a laugh, go to the GameFAQ's messageboard for the trilogy and try to say it would have been nice if they'd added a strafing option to the first game when they were re-releasing. I have never seen more rabid fanboys rush to defend the 'purity' of the weakest game in an otherwise excellent series.

OT: Most recently, Resident Evil 6. It wasn't a rage quit, so much as a, 'this is the most boring and broken experience I've had in years...oh look something else exploded' quit.

Also I recently quit God of War: Ascension after it crashed three times within the first hour and a half of gameplay. So it was totally worth sitting through that hour of updates, beforehand.

Edit: Oh shit, I totally forgot Ass Creed III, the glitchiest game I've ever played. Here's a tip for Ubisoft: If you're going to make additional objectives for the player to increase the games challenge, it generally helps when your shitty fucking game recognises when those objectives are met.

Seems like we're in complete agreement then, but we share a little different perspective of the situation. I have heard a ton of complaints about the original Mass Effect as far as the gameplay goes and how it gets polished in the later games. The game gets praise, but it also get criticism, my best friend is a huge Mass Effect fan and while he liked the original he recommended that I should skip it. I also get annoyed at people complaining about what someone says when they're really not understanding that they are using a metaphor, a figure of speak, sarcasm or simply joking.

Also pressing the analog stick should only be used as a last option. Sprint/run is OK, but still a bit annoying, anything else just makes me angry.

Multiplayer games in general, they just bring out the worst in me. I still have enough self-control that I haven't raged at my teammates in years, but it doesn't take much to make me yell obscenities at the screen and quit. Singleplayer hardly ever does that to me. Sure I might get frustrated and decide to take a break, but I won't actually "rage" in that same way. This is also why I don't play much multiplayer in general.

In regards to RE6, I thought the game was enjoyable for its balls to the walls over the top action. After the plane crash in Leons campaign I couldn't believe how much more fucking insane it got.

Yeah, it was pretty amusing from that point of view, I just thought it was really sad the way Capcom were so desperately trying to be absolutely any game except for Resident Evil, and I still can't believe that somebody thought having a move where you just fall over and lie on your back instead of an actual dodge roll was solid design.

The story arc and keeping "your" Shephard all the way through the series, I'd put up with all the shitty gameplay tropes in existence. Except maybe quick time events AND...

GODDAMN HALO SNIPER ENEMIES!!!11!!11! Just saying. Shield gone in one hit from a tiny dot on the horizon, so the big alien in front of you just looks up and smiles while taking out your health. That's maybe accurate in a war zone where snipers exist, but not fun!

aiming is a fucking joke especially with a sniper rifle that does stay still and when you have a clear aim, the gun just moves.

It's an RPG. Put points into sniper rifles. Crouch when aiming. Seriously, snipers become completely usable after maybe three or four levels.

It's also not really a cover shooter. If you absolutely need to be in cover, you're doing it wrong. Stick some shield battery upgrades in your armour, run around more, and for God's sake use CC powers. Not just yours either. Your squadmates are sodding useless, but they're at least good as an extra battery of powers. Just take Liara and Wrex and lift or singularity everything you see.

Mass Effect combat is flawed, and far from perfect but it's way more functional than you're making out. Stop trying to play it like Gears of War.

P.S. I have played Mass Effect 2 and 3 and in my honest opinion, ME2 has the better gameplay.

This is why we can't have nice things, people.

I find ME1 combat way more fun than ME2 because you can run and gun, and it makes you feel like a champ. Or maybe it is just the unlimited ammo and non-nerfed powers...wtf global cooldowns, killed my awesome adept. Also, no weapon upgrades. Ugh, ME2 so disappointing.

The use of powers in the game made it feel a lot less like a shooters and therefore made it stand out a bit in the gameplay department. I'll take less-fluid cover over a game where one is expected to cower behind cover despite being Space Jesus.

and I actually like cover-based shooters. They can be fun and even intense. Buuuuut....

I've never played Gears of War so I have no clue how to play like it. Thanks for the advice though cause i worked out that I really have to level up my shields and armour so I don't get killed by one shot. I admit some squadmates are useless cause I had Kaiden shooting at the ceiling for 20 mins when i kept instructing him to DESTROY THAT FUCKING DRONE!!!. Then i get killed and Wrex is dead next to me.
