Rare items...we break our backs trying to find the things.

Some of us organize massive groups for raids, others form tight-knit squads, and then there are those of us who go out on our own, either going on in spite of the obvious danger, or not knowing of what we're getting ourselves into...

Basically, think back to any great finds from your past, whether it was weapons, armor, or some miscellaneous piece of slag which you have no idea how to use, or, perhaps you've just made an incredible find, and wish to brag about it, if so, this thread's for you.

Also, to give non RPG and MMO players a chance at the limelight, feel free to bring up any tales of where fate was on your side. Such as convenient placement of a med-pack, plethora of ammo, intricate placement of enemy AI/players, that sort of thing.

----

To start it off, I was particularly proud of when I found a Red Saber on Ultimate during an online run through Forest-2 in Phantasy Star Online Episode I and II. This was three or four years ago, but still, it has great stats. Prior to that I've also found plenty of Red Handguns, they were a good trade commodity during PSO's heyday.

I collected about half of the Griswold's Armory set in Diablo 2. The other pieces are apparently ridiculously hard to find, even with maxed-out magic find. I also found all but one of The Disciple set.

EDIT: Damn, I need to install that to my desktop and port over my saved games from my laptop.

I've always had bad luck with anything armor related, best thing I ever find is mid-level gear nobody wants or needs.

I just remembered another item...they're useful, but not to me since the servers shut down. Anyway, Mags. I'm tripping Mags. I'm actually hesitant to do runs in the Mines because of them, I have over thirty of the damn little things. What's the point of raising them? I'm a RACast, what the hell am I going to do with thirty Pushans? I HATE Pushans!! I mean, they look like retarded metal kites!

They made Return of The King for the GBA? Was it turn based gameplay?

Well, was not a MMO, but I did play on a NWN Roleplay server where my main character managed to obtain a powerful sword only shadow beings could weild. It was a weapon only this really strong rare enemy had and some fool mage player got it and sold it to him thinking he would destroy it. He just wanted it to study and hopefully find a way to use it. (He at this point had become the server's most powerful PC villian)
(if you got lost, 'he' is my character)

trying to find a copy of Silent Hill non green label is damn near impossible, that is for a reasonable price. me and a buddy of mine collect old video games, mostly old nintendo games with possibly a case is a good find for us. so far we have almost 200 different games total for various systems.

and yes i tried to farm the Griswold set as well as the amazon set (insert name here) for a long time.

I was supposed to be in an event, but I had to cancel at the last minute due to the forgetfulness of one of my professors.
The GM gave me the perm outfit anyway, even though the rules explicidly stated otherwise. Its pretty 'n pink, with laughing kittens on the bottom of the shoes!

... You didn't hear that.

Interesting, is this roleplay still going on, or has it ended?

Like a ship anchor? I take it was used like a mace, or some other blunt instrument of death, right?

I once saw a Final Fantasy game going for $60-80 bucks, it was out in the open...waiting to be snatched, really.

I myself really never bothered with finding game before they became "Greatest Hits", after all, when I buy my games used, I want the disc to be in good condition...honestly, the way some people treat their discs is sickening.

....What? Anyway, what sort of event was it? A tourney or something?

yeah it was a ship anchor not as big as an actual ship anchor but about as big as a player, when you use it to attack, the character swings it around and smacks the enemy with the blunt side of it, so yeah i guess it counts as a mace, or maybe a hammer, haven't played the game in a year or two so i can't remember

i actually had to fight something to get the broken version of it, it was a very weird boss, it was a brain, in a jar, in a robot suit made out of magic wood, and the entire area was full of poison gas that i had to use to kill zombies, oh yeah and i had to fight it in a church.. on an island... in the middle of nowhere
