Ok so not only do I want to know about your country I want to know what you think of it. So I want you to rate it on how you feel about each of these categories.

Name:

Health Care
Education

Give a rating out of 10 for each (10 being highest) you can even (if you want) explain why you gave your country that rating.

I'll go first.

Australia.

Health Care - 6, so much more could be done.
Education - 8 , pretty good with that.
Public Safety - 5, Melbourne is gripped in a violence problem, particularly during the night.
Military - 3, we don't care about the army really.
Economy - 8, haha! Survived the GFC without a technical recession! Go us!
Foreign Policies - 6, we just relaxed our immigration laws meaning heaps of boat people are now charging our way, and the world doesn't respect us enough to listen to our suggestions.
Social Securities - 7, people are fairly happy to be honest.
Freedoms & Rights - 9, Australia is a land of oppurtunity that's for sure.
Government - 6, I dislike the government in power, particularly it's Emissions Trading Scheme it wants to push through, but the party I do like is a rabble and a mess.

I agree, just add another point to Foreign Policies. Were smart you see, we get America to protect us, at least for now. And another 3 points to public safety, because in the scale of things the chance of getting in a fight really isn't as bad, things could be much worse. E.g in a western country, a friend of mine went to the US and a cab driver told him not to walk down this street because you will get shot. In Australia you might get a mean look, thats it.

Thank you for that. Now let me do a little more...accurate rating of the USA.

Health Care : 9 (it might be outrageously overpriced, but it is still good)
Education : 6 (slightly above average compared to other countries, but no where near the top)
Public Safety : 10 (serisouly, besides 9/11 the U.S. hasn't had a serious attack on it in a very long time)
Military : 10 (enough said)
Economy : 3 (down the drain[like the rest of the worlds] but slowly climbing back up)
Foreign Policies : 7 (in case no one noticed, we are starting to reopen talks with countries that we haven't been too friendly with in the past)
Social Securities : 10 (seriously, if you have a low enough income we'll feed your dog. Suiseiseki must have forgot about SOCIAL SECURITY!!!! and every other million welfare programs that exist in the U.S. today)
Freedoms & Rights : 9 (we have been restricted to some small extent in the past years, but it's all for the greater good)
Government : 4 (90% corrupt, but get's the job done 40% of the time[pork added of course!])

Wasn't there a post going around like this around when I joined, again, about 2 months ago and now here? I think I might search bar it.
OT: Australia
Health Care: 7 (Still room for improvement)
Education: 6 (Related to a teacher; the crap that goes on sometimes)
Public Safety: 7
Military: 4
Economy: 8 (Least affected, according to statistics!)
Foreign Policies: 3 (Watch out, that boat is probably full of 'em)
Social Securities: 6
Freedom & Rights: 7
Government: 5 (Let's face it, there's bound to be a lot of conflict over a decision that affects an entire nation.)

Health Care: IT'S OVER 9000! 6
Education: 4
Public Safety: 6
Military: 8
Economy: 3
Foreign Policies: 6
Social Securities: 6.
Freedoms & Rights: 3
Government: 2

<spoiler=Detailed explanation for my reasons>
Health care: Free health care for everyone. It works, and it can be the one thing between you and your grave. What keeps it from being a 10 is that it's slow. My friend's mom had to wait nine years for a kidney transplant. Wtf?

Education: While the education here is free and available to all, it's bollocks. Here, it's not about actual education, per se; it's about working your ass off for marks that ultimately mean nothing. This results in lack of motivation and initiative for many students such as myself. If you want actual education here, you have to get it yourself.

Oh, and the government here likes to use the education system to feed political propaganda to you. If you don't think that's true, it's because you haven't noticed it yet.

Public Safety: This is fairly good. People here are not as aggressive as, say, in the States, and sometimes people will actually help you out and be good citizens. What prevents this from being a 10 is that our legal system is raw shite and the cops won't always be there to help you should "cocks rocket skyward", as Yahtzee says.

Military: This gets a high score because the Canadian military has a long history of kicking ass. Small as its military may be (okay, it's a couple of guys on horses with Super Soakers), Canada's soldiers are well-trained and fierce fighters.

Economy: While Canada is one of the wealthiest nations in the world, this wealth is concentrated in rich areas, and we still have capitalism, so the rich get richer while the poor get poorer. Life can be pretty rough here if you're not at least upper class. As you may already know, I am a communist, so I am strongly opposed to capitalism. I will not pretend that this explanation and score are unbiased. There is no opportunity in this country.

Foreign Policies: Canada is generally a peaceful country. It does not start wars or invade other lands for oil (*ahem*). My only problem is that I'm worried should cocks rocket skyward once more, Canada will bandwagon with the States as the nervous sidekick who watches while the protagonist blows everything to hell.

Social Securities: It's okay. No further comment.

Freedoms and rights: Hell no. If you want to do anything here you need to have a PHD and a thousand permits and papers signed. The legal system here, as aforementioned, is total shit, so there's a good chance that if you try living as you like (even if you're not doing anything blatantly wrong) you're going to court. Or prison. It's more authoritarian here than in the States for the most part. Capitalism also takes its toll on this. There is no opportunity in this country.

Government: I strongly dislike the government for many things which I am not in the mood to elaborate on.

Seems simple enough...

Name: U.S. of A

Education 5
Public Safety 8
Military 8
Economy AAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!! (-9000)
Foreign Policies -2
Social Securities 3
Freedoms & Rights 7 (and dropping, folks!)

Let's see...in my rather biased and mildly uninformed opinion of the U.S...

Health Care: 6

It works, when you actually get to it, but if you can't navigate the byzantine insurance system, it's insanely expensive.

Education: 7

Higher-level education is inflating this rating. I'm not terribly impressed with our compulsory, especially not after that last national administration, and especially not here in California.

Public Safety: 4

Um...stay out of the bad places? I don't know. Our crime rate is annoying, but I generally feel safe walking around...here in semirural east county San Diego. I hate being out after dark in any urban area (one of the things I miss about Japan; some of it was probably psychosomatic, but I really did feel safer).

Economy: 5

The massive downturn is driving that lower, of course. Normally, it's pretty good.

Military: 9

We're way overstretched, but still pretty darn effective.

Foreign Policy: 9

Vastly improved, now that we have an administration that's willing to compromise, or at worst hide that we'll do what we feel is right (rather than shove it in peoples' faces).

Social Securities: 7

Not being a recipient myself, I'm not entirely certain about this, but it seems to be working pretty well so far...until the gargantuan wave of retirement hits.

Rights & Freedoms: 8

I'm under no illusions about this. Barring certain issues, we're still pretty awesome in this regard. We treat our legal immigrants well, for the most part (though I wish we treated our illegals a litter better), we're not penalized for taking certain paths (unless you're gay and in a very conservative area...or California *quivers in rage*), and the fact that both Michael Moore and Glenn Beck can exist in the same country says something (whether that's something good is up for debate, but...).

Government: 6

It's mostly the new executive administration bumping that up. It'd be higher if I didn't know about the vast power of the bureaucracy, or my lack of faith with a giant chunk of the legislative branch. I mean, come on. Dissent on moral or intellectual grounds is all well and good...so why don't you try that instead of just toeing the party line?

US:

Health Care: 8, or a 9. Everything has flaws. Our health care is very good compared to many other countries. Although arguably, at the rate we're going it'll be very bad.

Education: 5. Our education system is bleh at best. There's good and there's bad. Average seems fairly accurate.

Public Safety: 7.

Military: 9.

Economy: There isn't a low enough number. The lovely thing is that we're gonna get a whole lot worse before we get a whole lot better.

Foreign Policies: 0.

Social Securities. 9. And I think that's a bad thing. Welfare, welfare, welfare. Meh.

Freedoms And Rights: 9. Although, again, we're losing them by the bill.

Government: Now? Again, there isn't a low enough number.

I agree with everything except the military. Despite its small size and short-comings, we are still a regional power worth at least a 5. I read an article for my Geopolitical studies that said thanks to our collection of F-111s (the fastest plane in the service of any western military capable of carrying a quarter of the bomb tonnage of a B-52 as well as nuclear weapons) gives us better conventional power projection capabilities than China. That's gotta be worth something.
