So a little background on my issue. The headset was working fine for about 2 months after it's sudden 'stroke'. I was playing games and went to grab a drink so i took off my headset like i usually did and put it on my desk only to come back and not hear anything from the right headphone. I haven't thrown it on the desk with vicious force or anything like that, I also made sure that the cable didn't have any knots in any part of the headset, I treated it very carefully. I haven't changed any of the settings since they were working just fine. Anyhow i decided to contact Razer with my problem. Long story short, there will be no refund on the headset, because I don't have a receipt for it. (I won it through a contest) They aren't able to help me with fixing it on my own either:

Dear Razer Customer,

After seeing that the description of the issue, it seems that the warranty is voided because there is no (Proof of Purchase). I really regret to tell you that we would not be able to process a warranty claim for the Razer Megalodon.

Razer do not offer repair or replacement for peripherals that the warranty is voided , as we find it faster and simpler to just replace any faulty peripherals if it is still within the warranty period.


The only thing that I can think of where the problem might be is the wiring inside the headphones (not visible) perhaps a pin has disconnected somehow?

Btw, I checked if the headset is working on a different laptop and again no sound from the right headphone.

Perhaps someone is capable of helping me how to take the headset apart and fix it (if that's the issue at all) which would be much appreciated.

You could try contacting the competition organizers and see if they can help you out, otherwise it's difficult to tell how to actually fix the problem as it could be anywhere between the audio processing unit (the little box thing with the buttons) and the actual speaker (or speakers, as it were). If you don't have the confidence and know-how to deconstruct the thing without help you're probably going to have trouble identifying the problem area (I know I wouldn't pull a set apart other than as a last resort, though I'd probably eBay them as a faulted repairable before then). If all else fails you can probably pay them to fix it, though that'll probably cost as much as a decent set of cans would anyway (the Megalodon is actually surprisingly cheap, or at least cheaper than I'd expect from Razer).

I tried contacting the organization, but they pretty much decided to ignore my emails, that's why i'm posting here. Razer also claimed they don't do any repairs as simply it doesn't makes sense for them financially.
I have a decent knowledge tho on how to take the headset apart, but I was hoping someone would have a clue on where exactly the issue might be, perhaps anyone knows a reliable website which would offer to repair this device for a reasonable price, if not I think it's time to take matters into my own hands.

Well like I said, it's no easy task determining where the problem lies, as it could be a fault in the audio processing unit, the connectors in the audio processing unit, the wires between it and the headset, the connectors to the speaker, or the speaker itself. If I had to guess I'd say it would be a loose connection, though there aren't likely to be any guides for disassembly if Razer themselves don't even repair them as I assume they aren't really designed to be taken apart, plus self repair is probably a rare occurrence. You could try unclicking the plastic around the audio processing unit and right headphone (I'm assuming it's clicked together somehow, could have some screws though, hopefully not glued) with a flat screwdriver or knife edge or something and checking the connections, but if it's a faulted part then you're probably out of luck. Could probably try googling for some repair places in your country, preferentially ones that don't charge if they don't fix (because who wants to pay for nothing?).
