Re-Installing Vista

Hey all; I have a question. I have windows vista; but I want to re-install vista. I lost the disc - but I still have my CD Key. If I download an ISO; is this not considered illegal and non-suable if I have a CD-Key? And If so; I also need to know how to re-install vista without losing any of my programs or data. I have an idea of how to do it; but I'm not sure if that will speed up my system.

Or should I just get Windows 7 and Dual-Boot?

Why would you want to reinstall Vista? I'd rather be done with it and get 7, even if I did lose everything. This OS has caused nothing but problems (despite being stylistically superior to XP).

If you can, just get W7, but to answer your question, not, as far as I know, it is not illegal as long as you have your key and am not using a crack or something.

I dont think is ilegal but if you get the key to work you will probably pass validation.

Kind of related but does anyone know how to reinstall vista, I don't have a disc or anything I would like to reformat my drive then freshly install it.
