How often do you guys play through games you've already played again, looking through every nook and cranny, turning over every rock etc.?

I ask because I bought ME1 a few weeks before the second one came out, and I sort of rushed through it so I could get to the (utterly incredible) ME2. So my plan is in the next few weeks to play through the first one again as much as possible, getting many many hours on it (instead of the ten or so I had last time) and taking my sweet damn time, before doing the same with ME2.

So yeah...do you replay games you've played before, or play it once then never touch it again?

I replay the heck out of most games, either to see what will happen if I do something differently, to complete side quests I didn't know about, or just to get achievements that you can't get in one play through. I recently finished replaying Mass Effect 2 as my very dear to my heart Paragon Shepard, making pretty much every decision the same, except I wanted to see what would happen if I acted differently in a few loyalty missions and whether that would have any consequences in Mass Effect 3. Specifically, Legion's mission; I want to see the repercussions for both choices.

I'm already planning another run-through of New Vegas once I finish this one.

I replay most games at least once. And some games a few times, like Bioware games.

I spend way too much time doing the same shit...
- Oblivion = 1 Full playthrough (270 hrs), 1 run around kill everyone playthrough (40 hrs)
- Fallout 3 = 2 Full Full playthroughs (115 hrs each), 1 get the last few acheivements playthrough (30 hrs)
- Fallout New Vegas = 2 Full Playthroughs (80 & 50 hrs), then 3 get the last few acheivements playthrough (roughly 60 hrs)
- Mass Effect 2 = 3 Full Playthroughs (35, 35, 25 hrs each), and now im redoing 2 to include the DLCs) probably each will become 40 hrs a piece.
- Saints Row 2 = 1 Full playthrough (115 hrs)
- Bioshock 1 = 2 Full Playthroughs (? hrs)

It varies between games for me.

To give two extreme examples -

I played through Alpha Protocol five times in a row after purchasing it and would quite happily play through it again now (mere months after having done that) if I hadn't lent it to a friend.

On the other hand, my playthrough of Mass Effect 2 felt so perfect and moving with the Shepard I played that I can't fathom going back and playing it differently, despite all the different viewpoints and choices to be made.

Sometimes I play a select few games over and over and over again. I played through Oblivion once, and I have tried to play through it again something like 20 times. I have like 3000 saves on the game, but I haven't been able to beat it again. I'm missing only one achievement, but even with the thousands of hours i've sunk into the game, I probably have only seen about 65% of what the game has to offer.
I play some shooters over again sometimes if I like them enough. I played Call of Juarez around 15 times. I play games many times except for a few. I only played Red Dead Redemption once, and I loved that game. Some games I never finish, like every game by Rockstar except for Red Dead Redemption.

Depends on how much the game makes me want to poke around and explore. I'm not always within range of an accessable xbox, but I've never really "stopped" playing Halo CE. On the other hand, Half-Life 2 is a game that I loved the single-player of, but apart from a few areas I've never felt all that inclined to replay it much.

Contrivances used to allow more versatility in geometry design like invisible barriers irk the heck out of me, especially since they're hardly ever used to expand on things in a gameplay sense, and if anything just make things less visually cool and exotic; I may still play Halo CE, but I've completely lost interest in Reach's campaign.

Played Heavy Rain through a few times to get a Platinum (and cause I really wanted to see all the endings). Played Final Fantasy VIII through almost 3 times (never finished that 3rd playthrough). MW and MW2 more than a few times.

I replay the hell out of most of my games, Ratchet and Clank especially. Between the skill points, Gold bolts, and weapon upgrades, there's a ton to do for that kind of game.

I play almost all my games again, the first runthrough is a sort of general "get to the end, figure it out" run, and then the second is "get EVERYTHING/take different paths and choices".
I think the only game I really liked that I didn't replay was Phoenix Wright, for obvious reasons.

Almost never. The games i like include your big open world sorta games (fallout, oblivion, mass effect etc etc) the fun i get from them is the whole unknown exploration thing. I just cant muster my self to put in 20 hours of gameplay if i already know all the twists

The only game I've ever played through (or even tried to play through) more than once was Diablo 2... If that even counts. Actually, I'm not sure that it would, since I've never even played through the single-player game... Only gone through it in multi.

A couple years ago I found my old N64 in my parent's basement. Hooked it up and wanted to play through Ocarina of Time again, didn't make it far though.

This is a bit off topic, but now that I think about it... I have a lot of games, and I've only ever finished a small handful of them. It usually takes me a couple of tries to actually play through the entire game before losing interest... I'm a bad gamer. :(

Fallout 3-two times (100+ hours ea) (I know, shut up)
Oblivion- twice (42.5 hours in total)
New Vegas- 4 times (over 250 hours and counting :D)
Demon's Souls- well haven't beaten it yet but I've spend over 75 hours in it so I think that earns something.
