So just got my new laptop and downloaded civ 5 from steam and come to find that I don't know what I'm doing in the mod section anymore. I can't find any scenario based mods in the steam mod download section, except for 2 that i'm not interested in. I'm looking for campaigns to try out with historical starting points and whole conversions. And list your favorites I have a preference for the 1500's and earlier.

Until then I shall relearn the basics.

Get Gods and Kings.

Adds a lot to the core game.

I was hoping for free scenarios but looking around at the DLC I guess beggars can't be choosers, at least there is a 10% roll back on the price.

I hope you got the bundle with civ 5, all the dlc(except gods) and the previous games then. If I hadn't already bought the core game I know I would.

Egads man, welcome to the fold!

It'll take some getting used to but you ought to enjoy it. Word to the wise, you don't play any Civ game for just 20 min. Make sure you allocate yourself a good chunk of time whenever you start up a new match.

Thanks man, I've been playing a lot of RPGS and combat heavy games lately.

Thought I'd try something a bit more relaxing.

Like building an empire :D

I dunno, when the Greek and the Japanese keep attacking your civilization, you might not be so relaxed.

If you're ever looking for someone to help you give Alexander the Great the old conquest treatment, drop me a line.
