Anybody else get this?

You leap into a thread full of great ideas of what to say, scroll over the first few pages and build up some cunning yet witty responses to the comments already there - then you scroll down to turn the page again, and realise that there's about twelve to twenty of the mothertruckers... o_O

Now you can't leap straight to the end and post, because what you're saying may no longer be relevant. But you can't sit there and read the whole lot, because you'd get bored, forget what you had to say and forget what others had already said.

Stuck in this loop, you eventually just get bored and give up, thus not getting to post in a thread where you could've had some great discussion... :/

Actually, yes, that's happened to me quite often. But everyone knows relevancy is abandoned for all intents and purposes after the second page.

Personally when that happens, I read the first page, then skip to the last with hope that quotes will fill me in on whatever's happening.

That's why you have the off topic and gaming forum pages, bookmarked. So you can refresh them often and reply when something comes up.

I occasionally only open threads with less than 3 pages if I'm not up for a big read.

Our mileage may vary. I think you know that this is not a constant or predictable thing with all people.
