Bloody Disgusting has received exclusive confirmation from producer Oren Peli (also director of the first film) that Paramount Pictures has locked down an October 21, 2011 release date for Paranormal Activity 3. No other details are available at this time. The Tod Williams-directed prequel/sequel Paranormal Activity 2 has grossed $156m worldwide. Peli's groundbreaking 2009 film has topped $193m. What can we expect from the third film? Take your guess below and talk about your thoughts on this horror "trilogy".
Yeesh, if it continues like this it'll probably become the next Saw series.

Well, there's a shock. A movie that made money is getting a sequel.

And what more? It's a horror movie, and it's getting a very quick sequel.

Yeah, this series will never get old...

Why does Hollywood keep doing this? Take one excellent film and milk it for sequals, eventually destroying it. I mean, don't these people think about anything other than money?

If I have to sit through another Paranormal Activity I'd shit out my internal organs from fear. Seriously, no more of this stuff for me.

My sentiments exactly.

Is it really even that scary? I mean, my classmates were all gung-ho for the sequel and they aren't fear fans...

Why do you work at your job? To educate the masses and promote world peace? I've never understood the rage against people who make a lot of money as anything other than jealousy from "moral high ground".

Not really, unfortunately.

It's a horror/scare/jump/whathaveyou film, that did well, for cheap - of course they're going to release as many as possible. They'll likely continue to do so until the profit margin drops too.

I'm not too bothered, at least it's within one of my favourite genres.

Not really. It'll freak you out at times, but mostly (if your like me) you'll be laughing at all the teenaged girls screaming.

Also, why do they call it a "psychological" thriller? It was like any other horror movie: stuff jumps out at you and says "boo".

I think a 3D one could work, i shit myself at the first 2, so having things come out at me will make me cry in terror!

But alas, it isn't 3D...or at least it hasn't been confirmed...

Well I haven't seen the 1st one, but in the second one, I laughed quite loudly with the crowd at one point.
When the mum is dragged and she clings onto the banister, then flys upwards.

The first one sucked bad enough. It was one of those movies that actually made me feel mad for sitting through it at the theater. It wasn't a good movie, or a scary one. I never plan on watching the second one, let alone any that follow it.

I always look forward to bad films getting sequels.
Seriously though, are Paramount Activision now?

I hated all the ignorant, immature kids that tried to make a joke out of the entire movie instead of acting like adults and SHUTTING THE HELL UP! You miss so many background sounds and "strange" noises. In the first film you can hear whispers while the camera has that vibration effect when the ghost approaches from downstairs. The horror aspect is in staring around the screen looking for something to happen, building tension, then having the entity do something.

The cabinet scene in the second movie made me jump though. I also loved it when the guy grabbed the cross and went down into the basement. My only complaint about the final movie is...

How the mother of Hunter died. Did she get punched? Because she just so happened to immediately appear against the wall when Kaity walked into Hunter's room.

Great ending though.

Not incredibly surprising.

What I am waiting for is the first "copycat" film to arrive.

Oh, and for the Human Centipede sequel to flop...miserably.
