I often find myself not actually beating video games but beating the code in the video game.

for example... with bosses you can usualy find a trick that lets you beat the boss very easly.

in demon souls you can kill one of the bosses from level 3-2 by shooting arrows through the fog. the boss does not move, and you kill him without even moving into the boss's arena

in borderlands you can kill one of the bosses with the same trick. lure him near the door, open the door shoot three times, and then the door closes. repeat a couple of times and hes dead and you didnt even get hurt.

who else uses these "loopholes" and in what games?

I don't usually exploit loopholes consciously, but I have been in a few circumstances, none of which I can recall at the moment, where I beat a boss or tough segment using a method I suspected wasn't supposed to happen.

do you find it any less rewarding using this method?

Plenty..and majority has to do with 'Line of Sight' bugs. If you can exploit that weakness you can dish out the damage without the Enemy AI knowing where you are and therefore winning by default

I don't. Meh, i did that kinda thing all the time in Dynasty Warriors, just shoot your arrow a few times, you win.

But other than that, im a kinda rush in and stab everything that moves, so i dont see most of the loopholes anyway.

Beating the programming and finding exploits as a result? It happens to me unintentionally, but i don't seek them out on purpose.

Honestly, due to poor coding and mechanics balance, all of borderlands can be completed using exploitive measures. Then demon's souls forces you to think so close to "that way," that you can safely say anything you do that could be considered exploitive is the game's fault for lack of foresight.

You can chalk most of that crap up to the unspoken rule of open bug hunting. "Its only a bad thing if it stops me from winning."
Christ, the official demon's souls wiki (actually hosted, run and maintained by Atlus) posts geometry exploits as legitimate ways to beat the bosses, so I'm guessing it's just how it's supposed to be.

I don’t remember what game it was but if I threw a grenade at the boos and the hit pause at the correct time the grenade would keep exploding infront of him killing him instantly.

anyone knows what game that is?
blast master?

I remember beating a few bosses in KoTOR that way, attacked them so they followed me and then run out a door; they get stuck in the doorway and I'm free to shoot at will.

i actually never have played that game. i just took what you said and googled it...had to take out some words but essentially typed " grenade at the boss and hit pause" and it was like the first one..

Trap trick on some of the freaking dragons in Baldur's Gate 2? Maybe not really an exploit but still something of a "cheap" way of killing them, though some can be a real ***** to beat otherwise!

I usually try to exploit them all the time, they're pretty obvious alot of the time and i rarely run into them by accident. I just laugh at the boss as he helplessly tries to reach me, but to no avail Muhahaha.

I'm not sure if it's an exploit but I kited Branka in Dragon Age. I probably would've been able to beat her and the golems if I could leave the Deep Roads and get some more health potions and Morrigan, or at least not have to use shitty Ogren who dies within five seconds.

Oh and my rogue archer had 50% fire resistance when I fought the high dragon, only me an Wynn were left, and the dragon just kept using fireball on me while I picked away at its health and Wynn occasionaly healed me.

I'm gonna go ahead and say all of Fable 1. Assassin's Rush meant you could go through every single boss fight without losing any health. This didn't even require skillful timing, you used the (spammable) ability, and it gave you about 2 seconds of invincibility. If you time this with the enemies attacks (which is much easier than it sounds), you couldn't be harmed.

Also the amount of easy money glitches were incredibly easy to figure out, even for a 13 year old newbie gamer.

Uhh Borderlands I could just stand a certain distance away from bosses and shoot the shit outta them without them attacking me.
