There will be no "G" for us Steam users. We unlock for the pure joy of the achievement, not for some silly "gamerscore". Now then, in the spirit of this 35-day weekend I call winter break, some freedom-minded achievements:

Two For The Price Of One -- Have a single sleep-wake cycle last 48 hours.

Gotta Catch 'Em All -- Buy at least 10 games during the Steam holiday sale.

On A Milk Carton -- Go at least two weeks without seeing any human being other than store clerks and pizza guys.

Under Cover of Darkness - Stay up all night, 16 hours from dusk 'til dawn, in December or January.

Living To Fifty Is Overrated - Take out the trash, with the bag full of nothing but soda cups and fast food wrappers.

Drawn To Scale - Lose ten pounds mainly as a result of being too busy gaming to remember to eat.

You Know, Koreans Die Like That - Lose twenty pounds by the same method.

My friends and I actually sat down and made a full 1000gs list of achievements we democratically decided would be applied life, were it truly a game on the Xbox ranging from the regular plot based achievements such as reaching a certain age or graduating a certain grade of school to difficult side missions such as saving somebody's life.

We then racked up our gamerscores and thought it was cool.

Then a teacher banned the list because Lose Virginity was one of them and they decided that we were clearly playing up sexuality and using the list as a way to brag about having sex and encouraging the younger, impressionable students to engage in sex before they were ready in an effort to artificially boost their score.

I also made a list of achievements for my job, because it's that mundane.
