After playing me some Fallout 3 again, I wondered what perks would be like in real life. What would be the required skills, and of course, the benefit/(and maybe detriment)? It'll also be nice if it would be written in the style of an actual Fallout 3 perk, with a main title, required skills, and description.

Novice maths - You can now count in base 10. DUUURHHHH HUUURRHHHH. DERP.

Apprentice maths - You can now perform basic arithmetic functions. Well done. You are a human being.

Journeyman maths - You can now implement algebra into arithmetic functions. Getting better. Remember this stuff, it can be useful at times.

Expert maths - You can now use calculus. Good job. Very specialised stuff this... It's unlikely you'll need to know it unless you're dealing with complex analysis or something.

Master maths - You now have intimate knowledge of the functions of theoretical mathematics. You have sold an n^th portion of your soul. You will never find a use for this stuff, but you'll be paid well and have reasonable job security since no one knows what the hell you're doing.

Yeah I know this is Oblivion stuff not Fallout but whatever.

Yeh, I only remember Oblivion's advancement system too.

So Like Custard_Angel, I produce:

"Barterer"
Novice Barterer - You can enter and exit a shop with or without the money you arrived with, good job.

Apprentice Barterer - You can buy a dirty magazine, but the girl at the counter still rolls her eyes.

Journeyman Barterer - You just got a fair price from that door-to-door salesman... You think.

Expert Barterer - You broke that vase, you know you did it. But you sure as hell aren't telling them that as you ask for your money back, and they totally believe you. Score.

Master Barterer - No such thing as financial difficulty now. You now run a company which designs portable music players with no replaceable battery, and which relies mainly on a music store where the content and price is all decided by you, and the vast majority are buying it! You win sir, you win.
