Real sequels that are NOT sh**t ?

Hello,

For you, what real sequels are not sh**t ? When I say "real sequel" it means that the story didn't end in the first game and continue in the second... So you can't tell me : Zelda : Link to the past or Super Mario Bros 2 or GTA4(even if I didn't like it) !
I wonder how much we can find...
For me it's :
- HL2 (ep. 1 and ep. 2 are okey) // I don't even know if HL2 is really a sequel ...
- The warcraft series :1,2,3(and extension)
- X2 and X3 (+ ext)

Street fighter 2
Super Mario Brothers 3
Super Smash series"

Examples, startcraft it's right. It's a sequel that was good
Street fighter I don't know I don't remember but I'm not sure that was a real sequel...
Super smash bros doesn't even have a real story line(except the last) so don't tell me it's real sequels !
And for super mario brothers 3, are you kidding ?
And some final fantasy have a common story line but not all, so they can't be all a REAL GOOD SEQUEL.

Remember : A really good sequel must be :
- Following the story line of the main character and not just the "univers".
- If they didn't made this game, the story will not end.
- Must be NOT sh**t

Timesplitters Future Perfect. Whether it's better than TS2 is debatable, but it is DEFINITELY not shit. It's also a direct sequel to TS2 as it begins where the other one ends (sans one character).

Most of these game cannot be in that category because they are NOT real sequels !
It's not the same story line, I mean if they didn't made a Fallout 3 nobody would be shocked because the story of last game ended... Even a HL2 is not really correct because you could "close" the story with the 1 but the sequels of the 2 are real sequels !

Well Kingdom Hearts 2 was better than the first.
The Ratchet and Clank games.
The Jak and Daxter games.
Fallout 3 is a good sequel but I'm not sure if it counts in this case.
Halo 2 was good even if Halo 3 was mediocre.
The Half-Life 2 episodes.
KotOR 2.
There are others I know are good sequels but that's all I can remember at this time.

Edit: I knew I was missing something. Zelda: Majora's Mask was an incredible sequel. Even better than Ocarina in my opinion.
