Really good PS2 games

Yes I do realise that PS2 was last generation and all that, so I'm going to make it clear right now that anyone who suggests getting a PS3 is an idiot.

Moving on. I've been gaming for most of my life on the PC, so my PS2 went mostly unused. I stopped buying games for it when I thought it died. A couple of days ago I found it, blew off the dust and realised that it was actually perfectly fine. So now I want to try and get some of the awesome games I missed out on in their prime.

Any genre is fine for me, so escapists got some good suggestions?

Okami.

A beautiful game that uses the Zelda formula (and surpasses any Zelda game, imo), magical painting powers that interact with the world, good combat, a fine story, and GORGEOUS visuals.

Even more under-rated than Psychonauts and Shadow of the Colossus. Which are also fantastic.

Still, it's the PS2, you can throw a dart at a wall of all the games for it, and you'd likely come out with a winner. Best library of gaming titles for anything ever.

I suggest the game Gregory Horror Show. It's probably one of the best ever underrated games for the PS2. Get it, get it now.

Geez, there must be a bajillion.

Odin Sphere is a JRPG from Vanillaware that I adore: the game is beautiful and the plot/characters intriguing. It's juuust frustrating enough to prevent you from giving up. Also, Persona 3 FES... And Shadow of the Colossus, predecessor of Ico, is a fantastic platformer.

Wish I could suggest more action games, but those are all on my Xbox.

Marter really just gave you all you need really. Even though I disagree with Soul Cali 3. Smugglers run is fun IF YOU PLAY WITH A FRIEND. It also has some really nice enviroments. Timesplitters is an amazing series. Stuntman is fun if you mess around with the arena. Futuretactics Uprising was fun, if a bit on the slow side. Silent scope is good if you play sniper class in tf2. Monster Rancher is interesting if you have a bunch of CD's lying around. Uhhhh that's all I can think of off the top of my head...Oh Burnout 2 and 3.

Sillent Hill 2:
if you like survial horror then this is as good as it gets
GTA Vice City:
The best of the Grand Theft Auto series, worth a check out.
Mercenaries:
a game that lets call in air strikes to help you out...or if your bored. great combat, lots of explosions, really fun
Resident Evil 4:
the most replayed ps2 game i own. this game is a master peice.
Beyond Good and Evil:
Great story, unique world, imaginative characters, not very popular when it first came out but it's become a cult classic over time.
Prince of Persia the sands of time:
great platformer with style and story. The two sequals are pretty good too.
Ratchet and Clank going commmando:
cartoon animal person loaded up with massive over the top upgradable weapons. doesn't hurt that it has a decent sence of humor.
