Yes, we know you hate the show. How about instead of wasting your time telling us all of the myriad was in which the latest episode was bad, why dont you devote your time to a currently airing Sunrise mecha show that doesn't suck, like, oh, I don't know...
This?
I dropped Regonguista no G because the fourth episode just piled a bunch of plot points out of nowhere and it made no sense.
It's episode 4 of a 26 episode series set in essentially a brand new setting, as opposed to the Universal Century clones of the past. Better to establish those plot points now than later in the series when it could be a deus ex machina.

What didn't make sense about the episode? It came across fine to me.
I don't know, it just felt like they put way too many plot points in one episode, and the characters went a little erratic in how they spoke. It just didn't feel right.

Regardless, I think about getting back but I intend to wait until I hear more on it. Besides, Build Fighters Try looks pretty good and i liked the first one so off I go

It's not "worth watching" for you because you obviously want something much more than raw production values (fair call, usually so do I), but for quite a few people it's enough of a reason.
It's really Ironic that this guy still watches something that he obviously hates.
Hate? In order to genuinely hate something, one has to first actually care enough about it.

For example Legend Of Korra - I cared about the show and had high expectations from it, so it's flaws REALLY pissed me off enough to make me stop watching it.

But Cross Ange? Harmless and pointless, turn off brain and enjoy the bright colors + yuri.

I'm Agreeing with your quote and pointing my comment at the OP lol. Remember his first thread.

Just don't watch it. Go make threads about anime you like instead of fishing for a circlejerk bashing of a show that's actively trying to be offensive. Leave it and move on, and nothing of value in your life will be lost.

Seriously man, come on. We know you don't like the show. It has been noted.
Good catchy song

Still going to complain that Sunrise has dropped the ball again.
Given that you've responded to almost every single person who suggested something along the lines of this show not being your thing and that perhaps rather than whining about it you should simply consider not watching and moving on I think that those people have a very valid point.

The show will have a chance, the fifth episode better not screw things up. I thought the third episode was a sign of improvement and i'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.

Another fanservice/ecchi mecha anime with dumb plot and dumb characters.

That's about it.
Really? It sounds like a big deal from what the OP is talking about.
He's one of those people who worship good works and only good works and thinks everything else shouldn't exist basically, moral busybody and such. Which is dissapointing because his avatar comes from Persona and while yes Persona is my favorite game in the world. I can sit back and point out its problems easily and still love it. Btw Persona is tropes done very well, but still tropes. Thus proving that tropes are neither good or bad it's all in how you use them and every use of them will not be perfect.

EDIT: just gunna add this but, I think bad works or subjectively bad works have a place and should never be erased. If all we got was subjectively good works and that's it. The entertainment scene would be boring as heck, it's like if somebody went to a fine dining restraunt every weekend but during the days had homecooked or fast good meals. It's all a balance and it needs to exist in all forms.

Even worse than SAO??!!
Seriously? At least this let you know it never had potential in the first place, SOA had a fuckton of potential, but shot themselves in the foot every step.
Probably not. For all of its issues Cross Ange at least has a mostly coherent story. SAO cannot make that claim.

Honestly?

I don't get why people watch this show.

We live in an age where the number of good animes is greater than ever. And there's literally tons of good books out there, and nice live-action series to watch as well as fun games to play. With all that in mind, I can't understand why anybody would decide to watch this show without being forced. I just don't get it.
Yeah, I don't fully understand it either.

OP: Why is this other character in this show?
Me: Um. Why is this random naked woman tied up with some creeper in her bed 0-0

I'm sure the scene is out of context, but it looks a little bit too fanservicey for my taste. I'll just go watch Berserk for the upteenth time.

Really? You're giving this crap pile another chance, yet you drop G-Reco because there was too much exposition, and the dialogue was a bit weird in episode 4?
You know what, I have quite a bit of time so I will give G-Reco that same chance

I suppose it's only fair

huh, well for starters, my statement should probably be in caps since I actually yelled that when I say him

As for context, think about any island scene from Sunrise anime like Code Geass or Gundam Seed and you have your context.

You know, that statement is surprisingly accurate, I really do want to minimize or eliminate junk media and junk works; I can't argue against that. I'm of the belief that while money determines short term prominence, critics determine long term cultural significance. As such, bad media should be minimized so that our popular and consumer culture does not fully degrade.

Also, I've said it before, Tropes are not bad or good. Hell, I like Chiaka and that's not the most original thing out there. This however is tropes gone horribly wrong; its like how Psycho Pass 2 has gone full on blunt and has lost any nuance.

Psycho pass 2 is only needed to figure out how the Sybil system will be used in the future...but other then that it just didn't lose its nuance it lost its interesting characters. The first part had the characters gel together really well, but this is just like "Ohh hey you remember this cast we had before? Well here it's again but mashed up in blender." It feels weird...but I doubt we will see the main two returning.

But Cross Ange? Harmless and pointless, turn off brain and enjoy the bright colors + yuri.
Yeah you said it brother. Completely harmless entertainment.

Except for the awful characters, the generic racist dystopia, the ultra violence, torture, rape, predictable tropes, ect ect.

I struggle to determine what audience this show is aimed toward. People with a 14 year old mindset of what the real world is? People that hate women? Not a clue here.

Oh no, how dare a piece of fiction contain such things?

I'll reword what I said, it's harmless but only to those who can tell the difference between reality and fiction (i.e most people should be alright). Anything goes in fiction. Feel free to criticize it (I've done plenty of that myself), but what's the point of giving it any more thought or weight than that?

If you don't like what you see, criticize and move on. No need to "struggle" with it, as you clearly are.

If you see the topics and downfalls of Cross Ange as something genuinely harmful to anyone, then nobody can really help you there :/

But doesn't it make you wonder what sort of worldview a person has to come up with something so void of any kind of wit, subtlety, or respect for its audience and especially its own characters? It's like an angsty teenager's understanding of how our world functions, where the government is evil, people are evil, society is evil, everything is evil, and then tosses its characters in sexual situations because apparently that's the only stake girls can possibly have in a narrative, that and death of course.

This anime isn't the only one of its kind, either. Too often do "writers" try to attempt dark, serious, dramatic narratives but mistake maturity for ultra violence, gratuitous fanservice, and tons of angst without any meaningful context, subtlety, strong characterization, consistent tone, and levity (that doesn't devolve into overused anime gags, harem antics, "lol he grab boob by accident so zany XD").

Yeah perhaps their world view is like that, or perhaps it isn't. Who knows. Who cares :/

I actually don't watch that much anime anymore, so I haven't been keeping up with this. Fanservice always irked me, especially in otherwise good shows, so I'll probably avoid this. I did just marathon puella magica and fate/zero though, which collectively blew my mind.

speaking as someone who once had that mindset, it's not very healthy and will lead to people being put off and distant from you.

While media can indulge the fantasies of many, I also believe that at some point one should be exposed to media that challenges their world view to help them grow
