Ehh I'm fine with this considering the same thing happened when ME 2 came out...besides from a marketing standpoint this is a great move for EA and Bioware considering nothing is coming out around early 2012.

I'm not really suprised, but I'm not dissapointed either. Let them work on a game so it doesn't end up like DA2. I played it, it had it's enjoyable moments, but it was just lacking a lot.

Use the extra three months wisely, Bioware. ;P

DA2 was disappointing and I hate to see ME go down the same path.

Absolutely no biggie. Arkham City is due November and I do wanna finish ME2 a couple more times. They just gave me more time. Sweet!

This is actually a relief for me, since it means the game will have less of a risk ending up rushed like Dragon Age 2. Atleast I hope so. In truth I'd have wished they delayed it even further in order to have a proper development time.

I want the third installment to actually bring -conclusion- to the story of Shepard.

Looks like they learned their lesson from DA2, a game said to make Final Fantasy XIII look like an amazing game by comparison

I'm actually glad about this because frankly I wasn't sure how I'd balance playtime for this, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Skyrim, The Old Republic and Guild Wars 2.

What? GW2 is coming in Q4 of this year? WHAT DO YOU KNOW?!

Um, I mean, that's a decent guess, but one should remember that we don't actually have any idea when GW2 is coming.

And I, too, am okay with this delay.

This whole thread is the coolest, most reasonable response to a game delay ever. Mass Effect fans are the best kind of people :D

EA: Likely to get game of the year from every publication
Everyone: Without a doubt.
EA: OK! We'll release it 2012

Bioware CEO: Game developers, get working on mass effect 3!
Developers: Can it wait for a bit? We're in the middle of some calibrations.

I'm commander Shepard, and this is my favorite release delay this year.

Give me a game, or i'll cut your balls off and sell them to a Krogan.

Ah yes, "Mass Effect 3", the completely, thoroughly awesomesauce game supposedly coming out next year. We have dismissed that claim.

Shepard. Wrex. Shepard. Wrex. Shepard. Wrex. Shepard. Wre- THEY MOTHERFUCKING DELAYED OUR THIRD GAME.

Bioware CEO: If is chose to i could delay every game from this company and walk out unscathed.
Gamers: You're insane!
Bioware CEO: My suits and legal briefs give me control of this company. Yours don't. And i'm not in a hurry.

Miranda: Mass Effect 3 is still out there
Illusive Man: And it's up to us to stop it, ffff

Ok, i'm done

yeah, that's fine with me...

means that both Skyrim and Mass Effect can get RPG's of the year without having to compete against each other

If Bioware wants to take a few extra months to further polish Mass Effect 3 before releasing it, that's fine by me.

In all seriousness, I'm glad they're taking the time to make it as good as possible. But still! :(

I'm relieved to hear this, tbh. After the whole DA2 fiasco, I'm happy to hear that Bioware will be taking their time to get ME3 right.

Besides, it'll give me more time to play more Minecraft, Deus Ex, Battlefield 3 and Skyrim =D

Hey are you starting College this fall as well?

OT: I was expecting this. ME 2 had the same deal after all. Can't say I'm upset. Take all the time you NEED Bioware......and do make it the best game ever made in the history of all time will you?
For the third time actually. Flunked out twice for certain reasons, luckily non-game related, and after a 2 year break I want to give it another go. The idea of sticking with this horrible, crappy paying job in this shit village is...horrifying.

And then I noticed the game launches this Fall, and I silently wept. Oh well, at least there's the Autumn holiday to spam.

Just thought of another one:

Bioware CEO: It seems we'll be able to release Mass Effect 3 this fall! Aweso-ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL. *Delays Game*
Harbinger: THIS HURTS YOU

I'm ok with this. This is the lastin the trilogy so if they don't get this right, they will get a lot of hate. I would rather they didn't rush and took the time. As long as the wait doesn't become obscene then I don't really mind.

We don't want another poorly tested game from bioware like DA2. I spent the entire last portion of that game with the textures of the two most important characters just gone. Made me sad :(
