Reasonable reason for piracy?

I've been looking at a fair number of upcoming releases (Skyrim chief among them) and wondering if my computer can run them. I was contemplating (knowing already that I will buy some version) pirating it for the PC(although I don't normally pirate games) just to see if it can run well, in which case I would buy it, and if I couldn't run it, I'd get it for my Xbox.

Would you say that this is a valid reason to pirate the game?

See as how they post minimum specs, and you can always just wait for others with similar specs to try...

No.

I'm sorry, but I can't really seem to think of a reasonable reason for piracy. Games aren't food, ya know.

But, instead of just white knighting, I suppose I'll throw this in as well.

Try this. Or sometimes they release demos or benchmark tools.

Is this in the sorta-gray area of piracy? Yes. Valid? No, not really.

If you can find a good solution w/o piracy, then you shouldn't pirate. AccursedTheory gave you a good solution.

Yep iv'e used this site before, just do that instead. Its a quicker solution anyways. Ofcoarse if you fall somewhere between minimum and recommended it will be laggy though, and you won't know to what degree.

Aaaaah, I'm so happy to live in 1 of the few countries where what you call 'pirating' is perfectly legal.
