Congratulations Rebecca! I have been waiting for Gameswipe for a while, but you're involvement is great to hear too :)

Curse the cable companies. I can only get BBC1 and BBC2 for free, I can't get to BBC4 without paying, so I'm hoping that anyone with a generous soul will record the piece with Rebecca and throw it on Youtube. I'd appreciate it!
It'll be plastered over the internet I should think - a decent mainstream show on games.
It will also be on iPlayer tomorrow after it airs at 10pm GMT.

I should hope so. But when I visited the website and wanted to test one of the programmes of yesterday, this popped up:

Currently BBC iPlayer TV programmes are available to play in the UK only, but all BBC iPlayer Radio programmes are available to you.
As far as I understood, the iPlayer only supports radio programmes outside the UK and no TV programmes just yet ...

We will be getting a recording of it to show here on The Escapist from the BBC. I haven't heard when, but I do know that we will.

This has Dara O'Briain and Rebecca Mayes. Therefore there are two brilliant reasons for me to see it. I'd better remember to watch it then, only two hours to go :D

I thought that was quite good, it presented gaming in a fair and unbiased way, the funny man knew what he was actually talking about (I don't remember his name but I like his shows), and the escapist got advertised briefly on television.

Gaah dammit I only just saw this! I'd heard of Gameswipe, but I didn't know when it was on :(

Ah well, the PS3 has the BBC iPlayer built into it, so I can watch it in bed :D Awesome.

Yup, this is pretty much my sum up. Dara O'Brien actually knew what he was talking about, which made the whole thing better, but damn that Berserker fight was piss easy...

Just watched it on iplayer and really enjoyed it. I dont really like Rebecca Mayes stuff on here but it just seemed to be better in the context of being part of another program, rather than the main event.

Charlie Brooker is awesome, too bad it's only a one-off show. I'd love to see him do more of these.
Nope, it's a series.

It's a series, check the link.
It's a one off. Charlie Brooker has said it might lead to another if BBC ask and this is well received, but mostly it means games will be on Screenwipe.

Just watched it - surprisingly good, especially for a tv show about games, even though I'm not a fan of Charlie Brooker. It would be nice if he would actually point out a few things that are good about games, rather than whining about what's crap so much. It's nice to see Portal and Braid get mentioned, but in the end his argument comes down to 'games aren't evil, they're just a bit shit'. But then he does that with everything, and that's kinda why he annoys me.

They got the URL wrong. They said we were TheEscapist.com

Still, we're famous.

A bit.

You can tell where Yhatzee got his inspiation from. Seriously it was like a live action ZP with interviews. It's a shame that people who liked Rebecca's section will go to a tabletop RPG site as they got the URL wrong.

To just clarify. It is a series, thats why you can series link it on Sky+, but its a series of one off show's about electronic thing's.

Next week's is on Monday, titled Death of a Mobile, so I assume something to do with phones.

Charlie Brooker is always an amazing person to watch on TV. I enjoy his Guardian articles as well. He's funny and informative, he's a lovable character despite his hate of mankind.

Just watched it - Mayes bit wasn't bad, good summary of the game and sounded pretty good.

But best quote/idea from the video "This is Kurt, he has a wife and three kids. *BANG* (shoots Kurt) That's Christmas fucked for your kids!"

I just know I'm going to end up doing that from now on

EDIT: Here's the BBC iplayer link for it : http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00n1j8q/Charlie_Brookers_Gameswipe/
