Recently I saw the movie [REC](also known as Quarantine in America/Australia)Potential spoilers here in case any of you were planning on watching the movie. During the finale when the night vision is on and the old scraggly woman is banging around, I couldn't help but notice the similarities between her and Valve's oh-so famous Witch. what are your thoughts on the movie and any similarities between Left 4 dead and the movie?

First, Quarantine is a remake of the Spanish film.

Secondly it is awesome.

Also no. No similarity other than it being a zombiesque woman.

Errrm....Quarantine and [REC] are two different movies.

Quarantine is the American Remake of [REC] (The spanish Original).

And if you actually meant [REC] (since i didn't see Quarantine...why should i?), i dont really see any similarities between these two monsters, except that they are kind of disfigured dead women.

The only similarity i see is that both things feature running zombies, but maybe you could clarify...

EDIT: Since everyone had some thought about REC, mine here:
It is incredible how a movie can be so predictable AND yet gets me jumping every time. By far the best "First Person Horrormovie" i know

Actually, just thought I'd point out that Quarantine isn't just an English translation, it's actually a total re-make. 'though saying that, I've only actually seen [REC].

I totally agree with you on the witch and lead zombie woman looking the same but I think that's as far as it goes. And even so, you have to remember that Left 4 Dead is a direct parody of the zombie genre.

OH THAT MOVIE. i havent watched it, but it was called quarantine in Denmark too. the infection (the mutated-rabies virus) is very like that in L4D, except it cant mutate your body. i saw the trailer, and it was fucking scary.

I didn't know they were different movies! I was under the impression the movie was renamed in Australia and such, I enjoy left 4 dead and when i saw the finale chick i immediately thought wow Valve has good taste in movies ><.

Heh. I thought it was a great movie. But I thought the person you're talking about is a man?
Those must be some massive man breasts he has then.

I saw both. The American remake isn't actually that bad. Possibly a bit easier to see things seeing as there aren't subtitles.

The first time you watch it could possibly the most terrifying movie experience, at least the last 15 minutes though not sure how well it translates to DVD. The rest is more jumpy type stuff. Worth seeing though.

It was hard to sit through all the screaming and infighting and nagging, but there were some good points. I just can't remember them...
in fact... I can't remember how I got here...
wow what the fuck, who am I?

Doubtful. Neither the game or film are that old. Though not improbable of course, but it is more likely a coincidence.
