He's actually quite gentle with Dany when they're first married. He shows he actually cares about her happiness and general wellbeing, and it's that tenderness - something she's never really known in her life - that wins her over. We get none of that in the show, sadly. Then again, we don't get nearly enough of her backstory with Viserys, either, so perhaps it balances out.
And then he takes her from behind every night for months, while she cries into a pillow and contemplate suicide. Most people skip over that part in their recollection of Drogo and Dany. Dany flip-flops a lot on this issue, and while Drogo is more "gentle" on their wedding night in the books, after that the book and TV-show pretty much agree. And this way, Dany's growth is more linear and easier to show to the audience.
True, but in the TV she goes from crying to adoring him in a single episode. It just doesn't make much sense and weakens her character, in my opinion. Especially given that we never see anything particularly admirable about Drogo. (Because we don't really see him at all.) If we got to see how strong he was as a leader or warrior, we might be able to better understand why she finds herself drawn to him, but instead we get nothing at all.

All I know is that this article is going to be in the same junkpile as "I hit it with my axe" when the 10 mouthbreathers that you are spoon feeding finally lose interest. Susan I just think you are more talented than transcribing a tv show while throwing a couple of one-liners.
I enjoy you game reviews and feel this article is beneath you.
If you don't enjoy it, it's certainly easy enough to avoid.
