Reccomend me some indie games on Steam

I would recommend:
One Way Heroics - RPG Roguelike that's pretty easy to get into.
FTL - Kind of a Roguelike, but this time you're in SPACE and you run a spaceship.
Terraria - A little bit like 2D Minecraft, but way more action-oriented, with a lot of items that give you special powers and abilities.
Recettear - A cute RPG/dungeoncrawler where you run an item shop to pay off a debt.
To The Moon - A nice little story. Not really much in terms of gameplay, though.
Defense Grid: The Awakening - An awesome tower-defense game. Pretty challenging.

I also own a whole bunch of indie games that I, sadly, haven't played. I got most of them in packs or from friends. I can't really recommend them, as I've never played them, but the following games are ones that I have a particular interest in:
Astebreed
Unholy Heights
Dust: An Elysian Tail
Magical Battle Festa [sub](don't judge me)[/sub]
Hammerwatch
Screencheat
They Bleed Pixels
Don't Starve

Holy shit how could I forget about Terraria! I've clocked more hours in that game than any other tracked hours on my Steam account. I mean, I probably played Morrowind, Team Fortress 2 and Borderlands almost as much, if not more, but I don't have record of it.
Beats me! Maybe you suffered some form of amnesia-inducing brain trauma?

<.<

Anyway, if it's any consolation, I have at least 705 hours logged on mine. And I'm certain Steam failed to track a few (dozen) hours.

Oh, and to anyone interested, here are a few more recommendations:

Unturned
- In a nutshell, it's Minecraft meets Day-Z. It's free to download, so if that combination sounds at all interesting it's worth a look.

Contagion
- It's a modern take on the old Zombie Panic mod. And while I can't say I'd recommend it at full price, it's worth at least a few hours of fun with friends. Grab it if it goes on sale.

Monaco
- It's a solo or co-op heist game with a very unique, retro look to it. Lots of variety to the gameplay and hours worth of levels and story to play through. It's fun alone; a riot with friends.

Lone Survivor
- This one is a genuinely creepy horror sidescroller. It has a somewhat steep difficulty curve and can be confusing to some, but if you're a fan of horror games it's worth the price.

Deadlight
- While not entirely what I'd define as a "true" indie game, it's still a very solid, fun story-driven sidescroller. Yeah, it's about a zombie apocalypse but it's visuals, level design, and gameplay are good enough to make up for the humdrum concept.

Fair warning: There's some pretty cheesy dialog throughout. But then, for some, that might be a bonus.

Guns of Icarus
- It's naval combat in the sky. You and a team of friends take control of an airship and face-off against others in decently-scaled battles. Each player assumes a roll aboard the airship: ranging from pilot, mechanic, and gunner.

It's not the most robust game out there, and I'd only recommend it if it's on sale, but it's definitely a unique multiplayer experience.

I'll be the third to recommend Freedom Planet, based solely on SomecallmeJohny's review [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6WAnIeBstY] of it. It basically is old school 2D Sonic with new characters and their unique abilities. This has been at the top of my wishlist since I saw his review. I'm just waiting to see if someone gives me a Steam gift card before I start a shopping spree.

For the tools and solutions to obstacles games, here's some titles in my Metroidvania Steam collection:
Aquaria, underwater exploration and puzzle solving based on singing and different transformations for the protagonist.

Guacamelee, I just talked about this in another thread, so I'll just say platforming and combat with fantasy luchador moves. The amazing soundtrack is included in the Gold Edition.

La-Mulana, faux 16-bit remake of the free La-Mulana with faux MSX (8-bit computer that was popular in Japan) graphics. Huge world with lots to explore as an archeologist who gains new equipment to progress. Very difficult, though.

The graphics on all three are quite gorgeous, in their own way. Guacamelee especially runs the risk of giving anyone used to "real is brown" seizures from its impressive colors (and the flashing screens).

People also recommend Transistor to RPG fans. I just haven't had the time and mindset to sit down and play it.

Super Meat Boy
Fez
Hard Reset(not really indie, but sensibilities are very indie-like, as tends to be the case with Devolver Digital)
Cave Story+
FTL: Faster Than Light
World of Goo
Monaco
Castle Crashers
Awesomenauts
Kentucky Route Zero(not sure if indie, but again: sensibilities)
Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery
Transistor
The Banner Saga

The last two are the best games released in 2014 in my opinion. Absolutely fantastic, especially Transistor.

Word of warning: do not buy any of these games on Steam unless they're on Daily Deal/Flash Sale/Community Choice or it's the last day of sales. You will be kicking yourself later on.

I don't think anyone's referred to Natural Selection 2 yet. It's an FPS/RTS hybrid where there's one commander on each side who handles building creation, tech research, and orders, while the orders are executed by human players in a FPS view.

Another vote for FTL as well.

EYE: Divine Cybermancy is probably less then a dollar at the moment and for better or worse that game will leave a strong impression.

You can hack a door and fail to then have that door install a virus in your head, then you have to hack yourself to remove the virus, each of those hackings can damage you or even kill you.

And dont forget that all of that can happen while you are being attacked by a horde of creatures that can scare your character making him unable to shoot while scared.

It doesn't look like anyone mentioned Sequence, so I'm going to mention Sequence.

I grabbed it on a whim when it came out, and it ended up being one of my favorite games that year. It's like DDR, except you hit the notes to cast spells and fight monsters. It's short, and a bit grindy, but the music is catchy, the humor is clever, and it's well worth the $5.

Viscera Cleanup Detail is on sale today. It might be a bit of a chore if you're playing solo, but it's an absolute blast to play multiplayer. The game is actually more fun the more buggy it gets.
