Inspired by, but not the same as, Lovesfool's thread about how you go about making characters...

Does anyone have a particular character that they've made in multiple RPGs? My standard guy is called Arkk Tasao, I've made him in Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights, Oblivion and Dragon Age. Wherever possible he's a spellsword type character. He's a fundamentally good and compassionate person who can't help standing up for the defenceless, but he wishes he could so that he could have a peaceful life and not keep making enemies.

I usually go for a similar type of chaotic good character, but I never reuse names or appearance.

I've tried to, but it always goes wrong. So I have to make a new character each time. And considering how much I replay games... I'm going to be in trouble in a couple of years.

I generally make the same female character, Sally. If possible she has always the same facial features, hair and eye colour. No real personality, but I almost always use her to play a lawful/neutral good character.

Valate!
If it's my Valate, I try to make her look like me. Every RPG that lets me make a character. Dark hair in a ponytail, and a medium physique.

If it's a mandatory/post Valate male character, I make it fairly random.

My first character in most RPGs that give you the choice are always the human(ish) shield and sword warrior. He's also always the goody-two shoes character. Often try to make him look simular to me with long hair and a goatee, but there's never long enough hair. -_-
On my second run I tend to make the more evil one. Normally the rogue.

Dunno, I think I can see how a few of my characters are cut from the same carpet in that they're often neutral good and kinda snarky in a very self-aware sense. Other than that, I can't see any recurring traits right now.

I have a library of five or so names I repeatedly use in all the RPGs I play (four female, one male). I say library because I do little variations and combinations of the names in some games so that I can get almost ten or so very unique names in total (which is very useful in MMOs). There's really only one name that's common to the point where I might have trouble getting it.

There are a few constants. The four females are always two sets of sisters. If I make them as humanoid sort of characters, then sometimes their appearances can be similar to their previous incarnations. Sometimes their classes are similar. For the most part though, their personalities and backgrounds are basically random, and vary from game to game heavily, but the one who is usually a rogue is almost always a chaotic neutral sort of free spirit who does whatever she feels like.

I've got a female character and a male character that I've used multiple times in various RPGs. The gal's a snarky, chaotic neutral, rough-and-tumble archer/rogue, and the guy's a bit more of a goody-two-shoes, neutral good mage (though still with slight snarky tendencies, depending on the situation). Both of their appearances tend to be vaguely similar as well- the girl almost always has short and/or pulled back light-colored hair and a fairly average physique, and the guy usually has long dark hair and a bit more of a lighter build.

I always make a good character. If its a game with swords and magic then its always swords. I don't trust them wizards and their dark arts.

I tend to make my first character Asian looking (I'm Chinese) just so I can identify him better. It doesn't mean I won't make a white or black character since I do make a non Asian character if had more than one character slot.
