Recomend me a RTS please?

Most of these arent going to be traditional RTS games, most will be empire building games rather than along the lines of Command and Conquer or Starcraft where you just play a single battle.
Sins of a Solar Empire is a frikkin awesome game.
Basically you start of with 1 planet under your control, and the aim of the game is to dominate and expand your empire across the known universe.
You end up having massive battles with numerous empires controlling hundreds upon hundreds of ships fighting it out. There's no land battles though it's all in space which is pretty awesome.
Star Wars: Empire at War is a similar theme just on a much smaller scale and set in the Star Wars universe, there's land battles in it aswell as space ones if you're interested in that.
The Total War series is awesome aswell. I enjoy almost all of them, although most of the older ones are hard to play now given how outdated the AI is.
Mount & Blade: Warband is an awesome game, its a mix of an RTS and a first person RPG. Its got some really awesome fighting mechanics which are quite realistic, it seems odd at first but once you get the hang of it its hard to understand why everygame doesnt use them. You start of as a simple mercenary or tournement fighter but eventually you and your warband can conquer the entire continent.
Europa Universalis 3 is real time but not in the traditional sense, there's not alot of action to control. Its an empire building/nation management game.. not everyones cup of tea but its alot of fun especially if you're into history and/or messing with history, You can play as any country that existed between 1400-1800 so there's tonnnnes of replayability.
Hearts of Iron 3. Pretty much the same as Europa but set in the 1930's-40's

If you're going to try Age of Empires then I suggest you try I or II instead of III.
Starcraft 2 seems to be the RTS I play most as of late, so give that a try too.

You should check it out, it's the game that brought me into the RTS scene in the first place, something Blizzard, Age of Empires and Command and Conquer wasn't able to do. It's innovative, interesting and quite different from the general RTS formula, and it looks pretty good as well. Also you can blow up most of the terrain if you want to, which is always satisfying.samnoxid said:

If you enjoy a straight up RTS with basebuilding, army building and want a great story and amazing cutscences with a bit of army customisation mixed in then Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty will sate your needs.
If you prefer a game where yo can build up a city and a civilisation and basically create your own paradise then Anno 2070 is a great choice. It looks beautiful, has interesting missions and will suck you in and take up a lot of your time. It's easy for beginners, but you do have to do a fair bit of reading to learn how the game works.
If you would like a combat based RTS where you only control a single sqaud, but you still want to able to customise their abilities and equipment without overloading you with customisation choices like Mass Effect 1, but also lets you play the story with different squads to keep things interesting then look no further than Dawn of War II: Retribution. It's way more refined than DoW II or DoW II: Chaos Rising and let's you play as Eldar, Orks, Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Tyranids or Chaos Marines with different characters and armies driving each race towards the same goal.
Age of Empires 2 is always a great RTS. As the name kinda states, its another Age of x game, and plays kinda the same, but with realism of vents and dozens of races with different tech trees (By that some can get unit x, some can't).
I found a collection of of AoE1 and AoE2 with both their expansions for $10 at a Staples once, perhaps one of my best buys yet.
By my personal opinion, I found Age2 was better than the little demo I had of Age3.
Also the Total War series is good for what other people have mentioned for its real world military tactics. It's also great to visual to see 10,000 men all under your control, that you can get caught up sometimes in all the action. Or its just me being strange.

I myself played a lot of RTS games like Red Alert 3 Command & Conquer 3 (Tiberium Wars and Kane's Wrath) and when I tried SarCraft: II I was suprised because I'd never played an RTS where you can customise your army in between missions, plus you can also travel around the Hyperion and drink in the story and brilliant characters.samnoxid said:I'm defenetly more used to the "straight up RTS" but im willing to try out anything if they sound interesting
When I tried Anno 2070 I was surprised because it closely resembles SimCity which I could never really get into though it was easier to learn how to manage everything and simulates what it's like to fulfil the needs of a civilisation.
DoW II: Retribution surprised me again when it bought to the table a much more refined game than the previous DoW II/Chaos Rising which allowed customisation but didn't make the game feel like a complex RPG when you knew you had to get the RTS parts nailed down, plus it let you play with different squads from different races with great design, bringing to life each race including both the heroes and their armies.

Was going to suggest Rise of Nations, but you've already played that. Age of Empires 3(which I had for years before RoN) seemed like a downgrade to me after I bought RoN.
Supreme Commander looks awesome.
Sins has it's own niche, but only if you've got the stamina for it's ridiculously long games.

+ BALANCED, COMPETITIVE multiplayer gameplay
+ Interesting world/campaign storyline
+ Hyper-Active community (casts, tournaments, BarCrafts, leagues etc)
+ Lots of custom maps on b.net (almost like you're buying more than one game)
+ Fast paced, with little to no downtime during a match
+ Easy to learn
Cons:
- Hard to master
- Fast paced
- Addictive as hell, not only when playing (watching streams, reading etc)

I recommend Starcraft, Starcraft:BroodWar and Starcraft 2.
As strategy games, they have the most depth. I've played the single player campaigns of these games countless times, and don't even get me started on multiplayer...
Even though I don't personally think they are RTS games, I do also recommend the games of the Total War series, especially Shogun 2.

Wait, how is "Hard to master" a con? "Easy to learn but hard to master" is pretty much the scheme that every competitive/skill-based/strategy-based game strives towards, since it means that anybody can pick it up, yet it will take people a great deal of effort to become "one of the best", and if they do, they can still better themselves.b15h4m0n said:

My all time favorite RTS is Age of Mytholgy. I have lost count of the amount of times i have come back to this game, i just absolutely love it, so a game similar to this would be preferable. The reason i liked it so much was for its decent length campaign which was a nice story and wasan't just a collection of random missions and the gameplay was solid in my opinion so i could have plenty of fun with skirmishes and online play.
Games that i have also enjoyed includes Warcraft 3, rise of nations and the stronghold series.
Also games im thinking of trying are age of empires 3, stronghold 3 and starcraft 2, so if anyone could comment on these that would be great.

Seriously, you should try World in conflict. It's damn good!
Heroes of Might and Magic is a great series. imo III and IV were particularly good....that...horrible AI ALWAYS has ten times your numbers. (Heroes is a TURN based stratagy game though, so I'm not sure if you'll be interested.)
Just an fyi: the Might and magic series take a bit of adjusting to, and III and IV are only about a generation past the original command and conquer graphics (though they do look nice actually) so if you're one of those people who desires graphics over gameplay, I'd just skip straight to the latest in the series.
Also, Total Annihilation is super fun though extremely dated.
If it's HUGE EPIC SCALE STRATEGY FTW that you want, Sins of a Solar Empire has you covered. gets a little laggy if you don't have a decent rig when you have a million billion battle cruisers and other assorted units trying to blow up your ten opponents similarly large forces.

As you're a fan of the "Classic RTS", I find it absolutely amazing that you haven't played Starcraft, which is basically the Godfather of the genre. One caveat...or maybe a plus, depending on your psychology...the matchmaker will constantly strive to match you up against equivalently skilled players. So you can't ever really take the night off and just goof around. You're always on the knife's edge. I found this incredibly stressful, after a while.

It basically means that finding someone better than you at this game will be fairly easy, which can be frustrating to some. Without real effort, I would say that Platinum league is the highest one can get. And that doesn't make you a 'pr0'.
I can think of no better RTS than Stalin Vs. Martians, although it's not available for purchase at the moment (it will soon be available in a Game Of The Year edition).
All jokes aside, for something totally different, there's DEFCON. 8 hour long games are awesome.
My PC kind of is lousy, so I mostly play turn-based titles on the handhelds. The titles I'd reccomend you've already played, or plan on trying (Age Of Empires series).
