I would suggest the Shadow Hearts Series (at least 1 and 2 anyway) also the prequel to it Koudelka (PSX) These are awsome games but were seriously undermined becuause of the time of the releases. Also, I found Okami to be really good, definately worth the 50+ hrs to play it.

Persona 3 would probably be best to ease you into the series if you plan to try it.

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, and Oddworld: Abe's Exxoddus, both for the first playstation. I assure you, these games are unlike anything you've probably ever played before.

Also, Starcraft, Age of Empires series, or Age of Mythology if you're into RTS games

Dues Ex, BG&E both have great amounts of stuff to do. Ico and SotC should be played no matter what.(If I could get my brothers ps2 then I would, Damn ps3 has no backwards retardation playability.)

If you're looking for cheap, fun games and have a PS3 I recomend "The Last Guy" for PSN. Try the demo first though, I've heard that people absolutely hate it, but I love the game.
