I got $12.50 in my balance and I'm eager to find out what digital game (not minis or PS One) is worth buying.

Games I might be interested in but still hesitant about: Pixeljunk Shooter (1 or 2), Guardian of Light, Zuma, Joe Danger, Magic the Gathering (how's the online multiplayer?)

What I'm not looking for:
1. Hack and slash, platforming "kill'em all" type games - castle crashers and fat princess has thoroughly provided enough of that for me

2. I tried them or have them already: Castle Crashers, Flower, Braid, Comet Crash, Fat Princess, Sam & Max,

My sister swears Stacking is awesome. I have yet to try it, but I generally trust her judgment.

That's funny because most of the titles I've got off psn are more thoughtful puzzly type games.

A couple that I have which you would like would be Zombie Apocalypse (kind of like Robotron/Geometry Wars with zombie hoards). Try the demo for it.

I really liked the Scott Pilgrim game... though it helps if you're a Scott Pilgrim fan.

Magic the Gathering game was pretty fun but that's only because I played the card game when I was younger. If you haven't played the card game I wouldn't recommend it. Also the online game is ok, it definately gets old quickly tho since you can't customize your decks.

If you like Tower Defense games I'd recommend Defense Grid (it's on XBLA dunno about PSN).

Definitely the DeathSpank games, sure there is some hacking involved but not like a typical hack and slash game since it's an RPG. But the awesome thing about the games is that it's a comical RPG that plays like an action RPG while at the same time making fun of the genre. The armor and weapons have funny descriptions, the hero of the games (DeathSpank) is pretty funny, the other characters are weird but interesting, the humor is not hilariously funny but can be appreciated; overall a good game that's lots of fun if you like that kind of thing.

If you have a Move controller, Tumble is pretty good fun. If not... You already said you have Sam & Max, so I have no other suggestions. Sorry.

About Zuma: It's really not that great with a controller. You can't aim as quickly as your normally would, and you'll miss a lot even though they give you a guide to make up for not having a mouse cursor to help with aiming. I personally wouldn't recommend the console versions of it to anyone.

Costume Quest and its DLC. Funny and well written, done in a few hours. Although it's a turn-based RPG, so that may be a deal breaker for you.
