Yukio Mishima and Osamu Dazai are classics.
If you like horro, koji Suzuki wrote Ring and its series, so you might like that.

I haven't actually read the novel but the film version of Confessions by Kanae Minato was a good revenge story.

Assuming you mean 'Japanese' novels..

the "Jūni Kokuki" series by Fuyumi Ono is a fun and light read.

"Kokoro" by Natsume Sōseki is pretty great if you're into deeper, more contemplative writing.

and lastly, if you have any interest in Go, or strategy games and their players in general.. check out "The Master of Go" by Yasunari Kawabata.

I loved that movie, shortly after watching it I looked for a copy of the book on Ebay and sadly couldn't find one in English.

The only Japanese novel I've read has been ]The Tale of Genji by Murasaki Shikibu. It took a little while for me to finish but I really enjoyed it. I've wanted to get more into classic Japanese literature but I haven't been able to find any at any of the book stores in town.
