You said you like post-apocalyptic books then I'd go with A Canitcal for Leibowitz. It's about monks after the world ends and they start a new society.

If you want a light, quick read I'd recommend Superman vs. Hollywood by Jake Rosen. It's very interesting and you could probably finish it in a day or two.

Emperor Leto II and his galactic army of fanatical super-female warriors beg to differ.
Plus the Spice seems to be much less temperamental then the warp, so I'm calling that the tie-breaker :p

That was an amazing book. It's like fallout from the perspective of a franciscan monk.

Another great apocalypse/disaster title is No Blade of Grass

for post apocalyptic books i havent read that many

i reccomend the hunger games series
its about a post apocalyptic kingdom called Panem in the wake of some sort of War in north america
the governent yearly holds the hunger games a televised fight to the death between 24 kids between the ages of 12 and 18

it takes a while to get into it but its awesome when it gets there

also check out a book called enders game, and Ender's shadow (since they are basically two diferent perspectives on the same story), about a genious child getting recruited into a military academy and trained to become the general of an army sent to attack an alien race that invaded earth years before

its smart, brutal when it needs to be, and despite centering around kids it's pretty mature

The Codex Alera series by Jim Butcher does not disappoint. The first book is "The Furies of Calderon". If you like that, I'd also recommend L.E. Modesitt- but not too many of his books at once. They are good, but suffer from "Samey Samey" disease. i.e. you have read one of his heroes, you pretty much know what his other books are like.

MY emperor also has a fanatical army of super female warriors. he also has the male equivelant, millions of cannon fodder troops, and regiments of awesome. i think that my emperor wins.

Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick

The inspiration for Blade Runner, and it is far more post-apocalyptic than the movie (a lot better overall, IMO, the movie misses a LOT of the details from the book)

If you want post apocalyptic read Swan Song by Robert Mccammon. Easily my most favorite book ever.

I highly reccomend Generation Kill and Black Hawk Down, even better if you have not seen the film/tv series yet.

I know you said post/apocoliptic so I Am Legend too, nothing like the film, utter masterpiece.

(sorry about the spelling, its late, not in the mood to check.)
