So my main computer is essentially, in a word, humped. But I figured that since I'll be heading to university by the years end, I might as well pick up a laptop now instead of later. I was wondering if any of you could recommend me a laptop that's within a low budget but can still provide some decent performance for playing games.

My budget isn't that high at only £400 but if anything I'll settle for something that can atleast run Team Fortress 2.

I'm afraid this is a bit over budget, it's the same spec as the one I bought for around £400 last year and it's pretty capable, it can't run absolutely everything but it can run most things really well, just so long as you instruct it to use the graphics chip. If you can run to £432 I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by what it can handle.

I'm in your position. Just go into any shop like PC world and ask them what they have, however I think £400 is a bit low. I'm going to wait till I'm on about £6/700 before I look around.

Actually, I just got an HP Pavilion G6 and it seems to be working fine. Can run TF2 no problem.

You can shop around for lower prices.

£400 is a bit low when talking laptops but this [http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pavilion-G6-2251SA-15-6-inch-Processor-Integrated/dp/B009FZND2S/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1358285618&sr=8-6] should run TF2 just fine a few other less demanding modern games on lower settings.

Thanks for the recommendations. Also got a couple here that I've been pointed towards.

Any idea if these'll do the job?

Err I have a Fujitsu Lifebook AH531 and it runs most games at medium at 30fps and maxes out TF2. It was around 300$ when I bought it like early last year so it's probably cheaper now:)

The other suggestions seem pretty good as well.
