Well, I guess you could say so, except for all the blood and gore and teenage girls killing each other and...

This is starting to sound like that freaky Higurashi anime where all the little girls kill each other...

But even then Nyu wasn't "cute". She was more like "reformed homicidal maniac with no clue to her powers... and no clue to anything else either".

Besides, I wish Lucy would have stayed Lucy and just forgot her memory wihout becoming Nyu. I liked the character Lucy, she was dark and brooding without coming across as overly so. Nyu was just an annoying sex-crazed child in an adult body who liked to poke her breasts. OK, I'll stop now, the story of Elfen Lied could have been and done so much more...

Hard to find something good that's straight up cute romance.

Spice & Wolf is an excellent romance (only one ever done exactly right in my book), but much too serious in tone to be anywhere near cute, Clannad has plenty of cute characters and romance but is heart-rendingly depressing, and Toradora is much more about the drama and problems of love than the boons.

All come highly recommended though.

No, I cannot call her cute at all. Not after watching all of Elfen Lied. Besides, the character - the actual character of Lucy - was cute in appearance as she was. It's just the murderous aspect of things that would make me haul ass to the other side of the world. Plus, like I said before, Lucy is just a much better character than Nyu. You don't often see a character that's actually dark in anime, not just broodingly dark, and a female one is even rarer. This is unlike the rest of the show, which was gorier than it was dark...

Ah, here I've gone off criticizing it again, sorry. I can't really help that.

Clannad, the normal story is a comedy with romance in it, and the after-story is a romance with comedy in it. The after-story is actually longer than the original though, so I don't know why it isn't just season 2.

We'll agree to disagree on that one as well. Even though I have no idea where it's from, I'm half-expecting her to eat a baby or something in the next scene.

As someone who is very picky about which animes he will and will not watch, and cute is not a genre I flock to, I probably posted in the wrong thread.

Aishiteruze Baby is a very cute anime although the focus is more on the protagonist caring for his young cousin than his romance with a girl he knows, still highly recommended though!
