There is a market day tomorrow in my hometown, meaning that everything is cheaper. Being the massive nerd I am I set off a few moneys for a game or two. (Hooray for teacher work schedules, I got three months off. \o/ )

What type of game doesn't really matter, except one thing: No cod or battlefield or anything too similar to that.

New or old, action or dating sim, doesn't matter.

I'd appreciate some why's as well. Meaning why you recommend that game. Hehe.

Really gonna need some more details here. What kind of games do you play? Why not CoD or BF? What platforms do you own? It really is too vague a request, I may as well say go the store and buy anything, someone probably liked it and would recommend it.

I say Deus Ex, just because I am close to finishing it for the 4th time. Great game.
Gonna second this, there's a high chance you own a platform this game is available on and since you didn't tell us a platform...

Edit: Deus Ex: Human Revolution I mean, not the original.

Genre and platform?
Just in general I'd say a few

Starcraft 2- amazing rts. Don't get if you don't want a very competitive rts, and don't have any friends who play it. If you do you can 2v2 which is more casual or you can play vs eachother in custom games.

Crysis - A lot of people say this game isn't actually that fun, but it's one of my favourite fps, even ignoring graphics. I played on the lowest graphics possible until recently because I was playing on a toaster, and the suit mechanics make for a ton of options, and a lot of replayability. Although, it is notoriously buggy. If you use AVG, you'd have to turn it off for a bit to change the settings, and I never got past 75 percent of the game on my old computer because it always crashed. I think my new computer can probably handle it though so I'm replaying it, still fun.

Mario galaxy 1 and 2- Great platformesr. Probably better then mario 64. Not much else to say really :/

Well, genre is hard to give. Seeing as I think I own something of everything, fps, rpg, rts, sim games, stealth games. My favourite is rpgs though, if that is any help.

Platforms are xbox 360, playstation 1 and 2, gamecube, psp, wii, and the computer.
