Okay, I have a little extra money, and I was thinking of buying a new game. Not something too new, due to budget constraints, and something genuinely good that won't get boring and repetitive too fast. If something is genuinely good, I might try to get some more money together if it's not cheap.

I obviously don't have the games I list, so no spoilers, please.

So recommend me something. Ideas I've had:

Red Dead Redemption (played my friend's copy. Not so far into the story yet, so there's still play value there.)

Boarderlands.

Super Scribblenaughts (just seems appealing, the idea of putting whatever I want into the game.)

I had other ideas, but I can't remember at the moment. My gaming devices are: DS lite, xbox 360, and a PC.

KOTOR, if you've never played it. It's great. Ten bucks. Go for it. Steam.
(And next time be a little more descriptive as to what kind of game you're looking for! Please.)

I would be specific, but I like FPS games, RTS games, RPGs (and JRPGs, don't judge me.) and the like, also clearly 3rd person shooters, e.g. red dead.

Minecraft: You can put countless hours into it and the Escapist has its own server.
Already got it, building a castle. Didn't know Escapist had a server, though

Left 4 dead 1 and 2 are great fun, especially if you have friends who have it, too.
And hell, i didn't have, but i met several people who i now quite frequently play together with.

Feel no shame brother!

At any rate there are plenty of Nippon Ichi games about,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nippon_ichi#Games

And if you haven't tried them Shin Megami Tensai are always a good bet

Persona
Digital Devil Saga
Nocturne (Lucifer's call)

go nuts

Personally I'd recomend Phantom Brave, Soul Nomad and Peersona 3 & 4.

Also if you wan't something a bit outside the box you could try the void

EDIT: Ah wait you don't have a PS2, why don't you have a PS2?
All the best JRPGs were on it.

FPS:

RPG/3rd person shooter:

Both rather brilliant, both largely unloved.
Show them some love.

If you really like fantasy RPGs then I'd recommend Dragon Age: Origins. Picked up a copy for ?15 a month back. Well worth it.
