Put it on a higher difficulty and turn off the respawn chamber things, then it would be hard.

All I can think of is Borderlands.
If you're okay with third person shooters the Mass Effect series are great. Although the first is a little wonky on the combat side, and the second is a little wonky on the levelling up and skills side, they're both very great.

FPS RPG? Then your choice is pretty limited to Borderlands. I didn't really like it myself as I was forced to play though it alone which made it very easy and very repetitive. You can only see so many brown scrapheaps and shoot that many Bandits (who have some of the worst AI I've ever seen in this generation of games) before you get enough of it y'know.

Then there's BioShock which has sóme RPG elements and is great fun, and it's pretty damned hard if you turn the VitaChambers off. It offers a pretty compelling narrative (I never wanted to kill a last boss that bad, shame the fight itself was meeh) and a véry interesting environment. Creates a unique and brilliant atmosphere.

Other than that there's the Mass Effect series, but they're TPS not FPS. The gameplay is quite solid though, but the actual shooting is better developed in the second game. The second however toned the whole character customisation and exploration down a bit.

Well im good with TPS but I heard that mass effects gamplay was a little easy and simple, borderlands would get a little repetative for my taste

Easy you say? Try the higher difficulty setting. You see my avatar? Yeah, you'll pull that face.

As for simple, well that's just as a Soldier, but all the different classes really spice the game up and make it pretty varied. I especially found Vanguard to be very entertaining.

Borderlands isn't really an RPG... it's an FPS game with very small RPG elements.
I'd like to describe it as Diablo-with-guns, but infinitely worse. Diablo manages to keep some variety in it. Enough with the goddamn scrapheaps already! Góds...

I personally love Fallout 3. Some don't like it, but I don't understand those people.

Borderlands is good, but after you beat it once there isn't much to do.

Mass Effect is pretty great, with Mass Effect 2 being much better and my second favorite game of all time (behind fallout3). All three seem to be acquired taste though.

I have one word for you, and many Escapists will agree:

Timesplitters. Not very RPG-ish, but I found it was still good. Enough.

Sorry, but Borderlands and Fallout 3 are your only real choices. Though I'm sure more FPS/RPG hybrids will come out now that we've seen how popular those two are.

Wait for the new Deus Ex. Fallout 3 has a lame story, lame characters and lame dialogues. Borderlands can get very boring very quickly.
