So I am in the mood for a good sci-fi game. I would like the guns to be like starwars, you know laser guns and stuff, not Mass Effect. I would prefer an rpg, but it doesn't have to be one. I don't want there to just be some laser guns(ala fallout) I want pretty much all the weapons to be of the laser variety.

Edit: I have both KotOR games, Jedi Knight 2, Jedi Academy, both the battlefront games, and Republic Commando.

Well... there's always Star Wars.

Jedi Knight II - Jedi Outcast is a pretty stand-out game in the franchise, and is a mixture of a shooter/melee action game once you get a lightsaber.

Or Republic Commando, a first-person shooter in which you play the leader of a group of elite clone troopers.

If you have a halfway decent PC and internet connection and don't mind a bit of grind, Star Trek Online is free-to-play, generally pretty fun and has both ship-to-ship space combat and third-person shooter ground combat.

Other than that, you've pretty much got me stumped. I can't think of many shooters/RPGs with laser guns at the moment.

Thank you guys for your suggestions but I have those games, other than Star Trek.

A Sci-Fi game with lasers and stuff. A RPG!

B: "...Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?"
P: "I think so Brain, but how would he plug a banana into a Xbox?"
B: "No...it's time to recommend XCOM!"

If the 2012 Game of the Year voting was done right now, XCOM would be my game of the year (I hadn't gotten to it yet when voting commenced). A tactical RPG with aliens and lasers and jet packs and psychic powers and zombies! I swear, they must have just looked at my dreams when they were developing XCOM for it is everything I want in a game and more.

So there's my vote: XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

Clearly the only REAL choice here is Sentinel Worlds: Future Magic.

You can thank me later.

I REALLY liked Vanquish...it's an underrated gem.
Vanquish was an amazing game. But for some reason all that anyone ever commented about was how short it was so I imagine lots of people didn't pick it up because of that. Shame.
