While its safe to assume that due to the OP actually being on this forum that they are slightly nerdy, XKCD does require a lot of nerdiness to understand it and find it funny. I often find that I'm totally perplexed by the jokes Randall makes- I simply don't understand them. Also, he's been getting a lot less funny recently. Still worth a read, though. Its the only webcomic I regularly read.

Tales of the Questor- Don't be put of by the... religious themes in the first few parts, it's a great fantasy story.

On the contrary, having a religious-themed webcomic (especially one that's actually good on top of that) is a great counterweight to the dozens of webcomics that make a point of secularism.

That should keep you busy for a few eons.

I pity the fool who doesn't read Least I Could Do. It's written by Ryan Sohmer and Lar DeSouza, both of who are pretty cool people, and tell the story of a promiscuous man-child named Ryan Summers. It's also gets quality updates on a daily basis, as it's a part of Blind Ferret Entertainment (which Sohmer is vice president of).

http://lfgcomic.com/ is another comic by the same guys and also a part of Blind Ferret, only that this one's a D&D-esque fantasy adventure that updates Tuesdays and Thursdays.

8-bit theater. the only webcomic that I know of that is both a sprite comic worth reading and a finished story-based webcomic.

Cyanide and Happiness. the closest thing to a webcomic written by matt stone and trey parker.

XKCD. a very sciency humor webcomic.

SMBC. a perfect blend of C&H and XKCD.

This one isn't finished, but it's still pretty funny and has a decent, if tough-to-follow, plot. (Contains a lot of rude language.)

I can recommend something to never read. Homestuck. Never go near it. And if anyone claims to like it, they don't know good.

But homestuck is amazing and many people do enjoy it. What if the OP is one of them? I honestly do recommend homestuck. The first 90 pages are completely boring but its worth getting past them. Its long. Very long. But the reward for sticking with it is great. It might appeal to you mr OP. Id reccomend you give it a go. If it isnt for you fair enough but its very well liked by its fans. I found parts of homestuck hiliarious.

1) Homestuck. If you stick with it you'll discover what is, in my opinion, the greatest work of fiction placed upon this earth, and I've read hundreds of books and dozens of webcomics.

2) Dresden Codak. Gorgeous art. Gorgeous nerdisms. Gorgeous creator. The most science filled webcomic I've ever read, and it's update schedule is like once a month but worth the wait.

3)Achewood. Alcoholic cats. Retarded stuffed otters. The Great Outdoor Fight. Mexican cameras that show how what you think of yourself. Named after a slave brew that caused depression and brain damage. Genius.

4) A Lesson is Learned but the Damage is Irreversible. Forget everything you learned about comics, plotting, continuity and logic. Make everything look like Braid. ?????? Profit!

5) Nedroid. The friendliest comic ever made, a bird called Reginald and his best friend Beartato have fun adventures, occasionally with Harrison the shark and Gary the robot, it's the nicest thing you'll read all day.

"Yahtzee takes on the world" is pretty good. It's The escapist's very own Zero Puncuatuation's old webcomic. It's not still going, but it's pretty good. I read though it in one afternoon, and thought it was great.

Sorcery 101 with an interesting story about magic in modern world with excellent art and a good dose of humor.
